Ford Escort Mk1 rally prepared body shell

I have for sale a fully prepared Escort Mk1 shell. This has been built for clubman (not historic) forest rallying. I purchased this almost 5 years ago and during this time all the preparation work has been completed by Maylum RS (a renowned Escort preparation business in the South East).

Once the necessary work to remove the rot had been completed it then went through a full Grp 4 modification program.

During this time is has had the following new panels;

·      Front wings. /span>·      Front panel (round headlights). /span>·      Inner and outer sills. /span>·      Cross members boxes. /span>·      Slam panel. /span>·      Rear panel. /span>·      Floor pans (all four)·      Repairs to both doors including door skins

 Along with the following work completed;

·      Steel bubble arches·      Large gearbox tunnel·      Diff tunnel·      Fully seam welded·      Strut top reinforcement plates (not the RS type)·      Exhaust tunnel (drivers side to cater for a Duratec engine)·      Double skinned bulkhead·      Large rear tubs·      Round rear turrets·      Tank tray. battery and dry sump mounting trays·      Seat mounting bars·      Watts linkage towers·      Heavy duty 4 link boxes·      Full multi point weld in cage (Roll Centre) with front triangulation·      Underbody protection in the usual places along with various chassis skids for protection·      And the usual gussets and strengthening plates.  

Along with all this it has a front strut brace. navigators foot brace. fibreglass bonnet and boot lid and a pair of aluminum floor plates (to raise the floor by approximately 45mm).

The car is now completely rot free (as all the duff bits have been replaced) and is currently in primer with all the hard work done. The underside has already been painted for protection; it just needs to be finished off in the colour of choice by the buyer. The shell does come with a V5 document but unfortunately no tags but these can be bought separately from traders on the internet. if you wish.

There are some others parts available subject to a separate sale and the shell buyer does get first refusal.
