This all original survivor 1949 Cadillac is a top of the line two door convertible. (model 62) and has been the pride and joy of a World War II - US Army Soldier since shortly after he returned from the Pacific.   He originally purchased the car near an Army base in Georgia. then spent about a year with it in S. Carolina - before moving to Pleasant Hills California in 1952.   Last Fall. my close friend who is a building contractor - renovated his home. and received this car as partial payment for the work.

This 49 is totally rust free. has never been restored. and almost every bolt on the car appears to be untouched by wrenches.   The original leather seats are in amazing shape. as is all the glass and lights.   The old guy was so proud to show that he had kept this car garaged and covered so nicely. and that even the top had been down since around 1957.

The original paint has become faded - and the owner said he had scratched the left front and right rear fenders (slightly) in 1962 and 1970 or so - when pulling in and out of the garage.   Both fenders were quickly touched up. and the minor repairs are un-noticeable.

The chrome has patina on it. but is straight and nice.   The original V-8 is intact. and is the first year Cadillac got aware from the old flat-heads and made a giant leap forward toward what would ultimately become the most popular motors of all time.   It currently starts on the first crank. and purrs like the well oiled machine that it is.

I'm sure most guys reading this would prefer to repaint re-chrome and possibly change the original color of this amazing car.   And that's great because prices currently range between $75 K - $135 K for nicely restored 49s.   But why not leave it original and just enjoy the car for what it is. a wonderfully preserved time-capsule - at a fraction of that price.

Because this car was given as a partial payment for renovating the home of the original owners. it's being priced for quick sale (to pay the team of workers who performed the renovation).
I'm happy to answer any questions I can. but my good friend John S. is the current owner who can be reached via phone or text at (510) 867-1797.

If I can find a way to buy it myself in the coming days - I will.

A previously pending deal with the Gas Monkey Garage (on Discovery) fell through. so my friend has now asked me to help get the word out on the internet.

"Buy it Now" winning bid requires immediate deposit of at least $400.
