This is probably the lowest optioned truck we have ever ran across. It has a heater and that is about all.

It is a 1970 GMC C1500 short wheel base with a stepside bed. We bought it with intentions of making it a shop truck for our truck parts business. I am not a huge fan of the four eyes front end and had a 72 Chevy front cap ready to go. But. the more we looked the truck over. the less we wanted to alter it. It has made it these 44 years as a GMC so I did not want to be the one to change it all up.

The 250 six cylinder starts. runs and pulls the little truck down the road just fine. It still has a points type distributor. no problems there. It has had a new radiator installed. a battery and an alternator. Truck is cold natured. like all these old Chevy/GMC vehicles were. Fully synchronized three speed manual trans shifts out as it should. Truck is just fun to drive. although with manual steering and manual drum brakes. it does require your attention.

Someone along the line has replaced the cab corners and the passenger side rocker panel. The corners need finished out and the rocker panel is just bolted in right now. The floor of the bed is just makeshift plywood for now. It does have the ultra hard to find cowl panel with no radio antannae hole.

The interior is very modest. It has a dashpad but is curling up on the ends. The glove box liner is still there and in good condition. The instrument panel is lights. not gauges. The sunvisors are laying in the seat but they are not very nice. It is a radio delete truck and the delete plate is still there. Has a later model steering wheel. Windshield is cracked. aren't they all.

I am including a new headlight switch and dimmer switch. as the headlight fuse blows and I was told it was probably one of those two causing the trouble. i am not good with electrical.

The tires are terrible. they could almost be original equipment. the way they look. But. it does have a full set of matching hub caps. you just do not see them on these trucks anymore. Everyone used them to feed their dogs out of back in the 70's.

All that being said. it is a pretty cool truck. It does need work. it is 44 years old. It is all there so you won't have to go chasing down all those hard to find odd n end parts. It starts. runs. drives and stops. just not to quickly on any of the above. It would make a super cool shop truck. especially if you are a fan of the four eyed front end. I would not drive it to the coast. to the mountains or. with the tires it has right now. the next town over. You can buy this truck. spend a little more on it and have a very respectable weekend cruiser.
