Reconditioned engine and Gearbox in 1990/91

Current MOT Advisories – Both front ball joints have slight play. Offside front (under sill) Sub-frame mounting prescribed area is corroded but not considered excessive.

Cheap Classic Car insurance (£80. 00 for a year for me!)

She is garaged nightly and does not leak! No nasty damp or smells

My Classic Triumph Spitfire is currently in primer – nearly ready for spraying. Original colour is Inca Yellow. She is my daily runner (6 miles a day) to and from work. A real pleasure to drive for an old classic. Unfortunately. to be honest. I am too tall to get in and out of her comfortably! So she must go. These cars are really starting to become rare but you can still get good quality new spare parts cheap.

My Spitty is all steal and as a result will have the odd spot of rust. The clutch slave cylinder pin will need to be slightly lengthened. but she still engages.

Please. please remember this car is 36 years old. If you want a proper speedster then buy a Porsche! She is fun to drive and is a nice connection to all the Car Fairs and shows.

For the aficionado (that means: for the perfectionist). I would replace all 4 wings and both outer sills – but she looks alright the way she is. Aficionados would probably want to uprate the shocks as well – but. you know what. she's a nice “on the road” rolling project.
