Final time. with a reduced price. The only change since last time is that the Speedometer is now intermittent. I am lead to believe this is most likely to be a loose or broken/worn cable & will investigate at the weekend. but please bid with the thought that you may need to spend £10 on a new cable & fitting. (I will update this as soon as I know what the situation is. ) I have a 'GPS Speedometer App' on my phone which I've always preferred to trust when passing speed cameras. so do not see it causing immense problems to drive home without picking up any tickets.
This is a NO RESERVE auction for my cool Land Rover. If Kitchens & boilers were cheaper. I wouldn't be selling it. (And I know I will regret it when the first snow comes around. but the kitchen units are now orderded & the boiler is fitted. )
It's in good shape & works well. Reliable enough to be used as a daily driver & has proven great in the recent floods & atrocious weather. MOT until Nov 2014 & it has road TAX until April 2014. so there should be nothing to worry about for a while. (Insurance is good as a Classic Car policy with Fully Comp costing me around £80 for the year!)
I bought it from a Land Rover specialist just over a year ago & I'll copy/paste the list of work which was carried out before I bought it;

1980 X Reg. Finished in gleaming marine blue with limestone hardtop and wheels. Black deluxe seats. 4 Speed manual with Overdrive. Original radio. Reconditioned gearbox and over drive. Genuine 53. 00 Miles with MOTs to support the mileage. This little series 3 has undergone a light refurbishment from ourselves including. Full Respray. Refurbished wheels. New Door tops. Reconditioned gearbox and overdrive. Full engine service. Brand new MOT. Diff oils changed. Full waxyol. and much more. This series 3 is now ready to go and is great condition throughout. Very rare to find one looking like this a real eye catcher that will only rise in value. Must be seen and driven to be fully appreciated. /p>

It works well & compared to other old Land Rovers I've driven. it picks up well & is great fun. If you've never driven a classic Land Rover like this. you may want to check this is the type of car for you. (It's loud. rattly. no power steering. leaks a bit. MW/LW 'mono'. approximate speedo & no chance of the heater heating anything other than the front window!) I cannot drive this car without smiling & the petrol heads I know who have the choice of some very nice & incredibly expensive vehicles LOVE this little truck for exactly the same reason. Now that Land Rover have announced that they're ceasing production of the current Defender. these 'proper Land Rovers' are only likely to rise in value & desirability.

I believe the mileage to be correct. although I don't have thousands of past MOT's to prove. The online DVLA search confirms that the mileage has been this low for 10+ years & the 'experts' that have looked over it in detail do not think it's done 100. 00 more. In short. I've got nothing to prove otherwise. but nothing to prove it's 100% sure either.

The car isn't immaculate either. I bought it to use & have enjoyed doing exactly that. I'm not frightened to leave it anywhere. nor take it anywhere. Since buying it. it's had a new interior. new seatbelts & a few other bits & bobs. I have two keys for the ignition & front doors. but no key for the back door lock. (I haven't got 'round to replacing that one. but they cost less than £20. ) The interior dashboard lights do not always work & there is no central rearview mirror. which might annoy some people but I've got used to managing without both.

Feel free to come & have a look for yourselves. Send me an email address & request if you want more photo's of anything specific.

Having been messed around now. I'm not interested in selling it to someone in another country.

Please make contact within 24 hours of auction ending & cash on collection. or bank transfer/cleared check before I'll wave it goodbye.
