A rare opportunity to buy a VCC eligible project. It is difficult to accurately date early Model T Fords because the Ford Motor Company didn't number the chassis frame until later in the production run. However. this car has all the features you would expect to find on a 1914 model. wooden firewall. acetylene headlamps. oil side lamps and so on. The engine is dated September 1917 but is still in the “Edwardian” class. The car is not currently UK registered but I have a title document from the USA and the HMRC form stating that import tax and duty have been paid and the owner can apply to DVLA for registration and road tax. I'm not sure how the recent change. exempting pre 1960 vehicles from MoT's applies to this situation and whether DVLA would insist on a current MoT before registering the vehicle.

I bought the car recently. on a whim but I have decided that it doesn't really fit into my long-term plans so I have reluctantly decided to sell it on.

Bodywork is actually quite good for the age of the car. it has had some agricultural repairs with galvanised steel sheet in the past but it could be properly repaired very easily and. there isn't a lot of it!  Wings (fenders) are useable and would repair easily. The radiator features a homemade shell that needs replacing. The car is mostly complete mechanically. the rear brake rods and one of the brake cams are missing but these are available. as is just about everything else you could possibly need. just look at Snyders Antique Auto Parts website as well as MACS Antique Auto Parts. The chassis is rock solid and the axles appear good. although I haven't tried to drive it yet. Engine looks like it would probably run with a little attention. Original trembler coils are fitted although the coil box lid is missing (new ones are available). Wheels are original and appear sound and there are two spares with the car. Tyres are unworn and may be useable.

Trim is again agricultural but all the trim parts are available from the suppliers including seat coverings. seat springs. hood (top). interior panels and at they are all at reasonable prices.

In the UK. Tuckett Brothers have large stocks of second hand spares and “T Service” are geared up to provide support as well.

All in all. this is a challenging but worthwhile project with a charismatic brass age Model T as output!
