A superb and correct example of a 1973 Alfa Romeo 2000 GTV in AR501(middle red). Purchased as an already good car. I have since spent over £8000 getting it nearly perfect. The car will become tax free from next year and I have just paid the last ever tax bill it will receive!

The engine was completely disassembled and everything was cleaned and decarbonised until the engine was like new and was then rebuilt with all new gaskets. seals and bushes. Motul 300V competition oil was used which is the only oil with correct ZDDP indicated for these cars.

Carbs were disassembled. cleaned and were reconstructed using new seal kits. New radiator and heater matrix. Gearbox was disassembled. cleaned and rebuilt with new bushes. synchronisers. seals and correct 300 75w/90 gear oil. The clutch assembly has new clutch disc. new release bearing. remanufactured pressure plate and a polished flywheel. The brake booster was completely restored. The car also has new track rods. brake discs. pads. calipers and wheel bearings. Additionally all brake pipes - both rigid and flexible have been renewed.

I then had the car repainted and have installed a new carpet set to both the cabin and boot. The original vinyl was in good order so just cleaned. Some of the dashboard wood had cracked so I sourced new parts where required and retained what I could. AOA 78M has many nice original touches which get lost as the cars get older and change hands. These include;

Original number plate carrier - many cars just have the number plate attached to the boot.
Original type steel wheels with correct 2000 GTV chrome centre caps - many cars end up with the less attractive 1750 GTV wheels
2 complete sets of keys (one of which is the original factory set - no copies or replacements)
Correct jack

Only for sale due to burgeoning cost of Giulietta Sprint restoration. Car can be viewed in Bath. You wont be disappointed.

No trade or agencies please. I want to sell the car privately and find a good new home where it will be used and enjoyed to the full.
