For auction - A very well kept and original 1973 Toyota Crown MS65 2. 6 Deluxe. this car was purchased by myself from a very large private estate a few months ago after the last remaining family member died. the family owned several prestige cars and this was his favourite. the car was imported from South Africa (where the family originated from) about 30 years ago and has always been in a dry. heated garage and was always meticulously maintained and only used on special occasions. In 40 years the car has just clocked over 55. 00 miles. the interior is like it just came out of the factory. the only signs of wear are the drivers carpet by pedals (see picture) and OSR carpet where his wife sat. All features/instruments still work. including original 8 track radio (with several 8 tracks. 1 unopened!). lights. wipers. power steering. central locking. seat belts. horn. you name it it still works! The only items I have not tried are the front and rear air con and the refrigerator in the boot (yes a factory fitted refrigerator in the boot) I am sure after all this time it will need re-gassing. Mechanically it is faultless. when I bought the car it had been sat for 10 years and not been started in that time. litterally with a good battery. air in the tyres and a sniff of easy start she fired up and I drove her to my workshop 10 miles away! She now has a new battery. fresh fuel and runs like a clock starting and ticking over on the button. the Toyoglide gearbox does what it should. brakes feel efficient and sharp. the pictures show how good the suspension is still (no knocks or rattles). you really do feel like royalty driving it! On the outside there are the usual senior citizen scrapes all shown in the pictures. one minor scrape on the NSF wing. a crease to the OSR quarter panel (a good panel beater would fix most of it with minor filler) and a patch of rust on the NSF door. I think there have been a few repairs in the past. as you would expect. due to some signs of overspray and some paint imperfections. the paint finish is very good for its age and would not look out of place at a show as it is. Some of the chrome is starting to pit and the paint around the headlights flaking slightly. I also think there are 2 trims missing from the lower sills. I turned the garage upside down and could not find them. Apart from the imperfections mentioned there is zero rust anywhere. on top or underneath. all panels look original. She still has the original hubcaps. spare wheel. jack. tool kit and workshop manual. The car is located in the Isle of Man and as such we do not have MOTs so the car will have to be registered (I have the paperwork for the car and all import duties etc have been paid) and English tax and MOT put on the car. I am sure the car would fly through an MOT with very minor work. from what I can see it needs the very rear of the exhaust replacing (the rest is mint). 2 wiper blades and some tyres. I have the facilities to deliver the car anywhere in the UK or Europe at the buyers expense or you are more than welcome to collect it yourself or I can put it on the boat to Heysham or Liverpool and you can collect at the other end. I would strongly advise viewing if possible (the reason for the longer listing time) just so you can appreciate how good the car is and asses what work needs doing. I have another listing with more pictures (see Other items) as I can only show 12 pictures. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to email me. there is NO BUY IT NOW so please do not ask as your email will not be replied to. just bid what you think it is worth and hope for the best. This car was listed a several months ago and the winning bidder (well the bidders father who she was bidding for) could not complete the transaction. a deposit was taken then returned due to to unforseen circumstances on his part so here she is again. I have loved having this in my garage and the comments and response it generates but she must go. hopefully to someone who will love and appreciate it as her deceased owner did.
Please remember you are bidding to buy not to view or haggle. best of luck. any questions or queries please ask.
