This 1997 Rover Mini  is metallic racing green with a white roof. It has only done 57k miles. It has the 1. 3 litre engine (same as the later Coopers) with four speed automatic gearbox but with each gear selectable individually.

MOT until February 2014 and tax until January 2014. the V5c is present. Old MOTs and much service history going back to 2003. In the 14 months I have had the car. I have spent £1000 on maintenance. including having the head skimmed and brakes seen to as well as two full annual services.

The car was fully re-sprayed in 2008 and the body work remains in very good condition (as shown in the photos). Underneath all is sound and well protected.

Overall the car has a very high spec. including:

Cream leather interior (factory fitted). very cleanWood dash and door capsAir conditioning (re-gassed last year)Original Mini alloy wheels (factory fitted) – very good conditionFull stainless kit – mirrors. arches. handles. wipers – plus Cooper style petrol cap4 auxiliary driving lightsKenwood face-off CD/radio

    Points to note:

The car has such a high specification as it was originally exported to Japan – a very demanding market – it was re-imported in February 2003. I have the DVLA stamped certificate of re-registration from then.

The car was declared an insurance write off (uneconomical repair not unsafe) in 2008 but the owner bought the car back and had it repaired (this was when it was re-sprayed). I have the certificate of repair and the VIC was obtained. I also had the car professionally checked when I bought it. All is fine structurally.

I have had no problem insuring this car – Admiral has given me comprehensive cover without any issues.

The car could do with a good tune up. Although starting and running OK. it could be more economical. This is probably best handled by someone who knows the fuel injection system on this car better than I do. The probable need to address this is reflected in the starting bid (which is £500 less than I paid for the car).

Reason for selling? We bought this car in March last year as my wife wanted to learn to drive on an automatic. However. she has since decided she will need a more modern car. I have had fun using the Mini as my daily driver to work for a few months but I now fancy something different for summer.

All in all this is a very attractive and well looked after Mini with a high specification. A similar Japanese spec Mini automatic is currently listed by a local dealer for twice the starting bid I am asking. So if you are looking for (or happy with) an automatic. you could grab a Cooper equivalent (with extras) at a bargain price.

Please email with any queries. Call me on 07752 624421 to arrange a viewing. The car is in Tunbridge Wells. Kent. Thanks for looking.
