Ford Capri 2.8 Injection for sale

Current customer rating: current rating for this car(2.05) based on 401 votes
I am selling my much loved Ford Capri 2. 8 injection as I have decided to try my other love again (TVR!)
I have owned this car 8 years and bought it solely for use as a "Sunday Car". It is always garaged. never taken out in the wet and has wanted for nothing during my ownership. I am a keen member of the EYTCC (East Yorkshire Thoroughbred Car Club) and have attended many of their events with this car. It has won 3 awards. including second in class in the main annual event - The East Coast Run. If you put the number plate of the car into Google - it will show images taken by an enthusiast on this event.
The car is serviced annually by my local garage and as an unmolested car has been easy to maintain.
During my ownership I have replaced the full exhaust system with a Powerflow bespoke stainless steel system - this has a lifetime guarantee and sounds awesome!I have replaced the radiator. waterpump. thermostat housing and thermostat. Last year I also fitted an additional Kenlowe electric fan which operates from a switch for when you get stuck in long queues of traffic on hot summer days! (The original viscous coupling fan struggles to cope in these conditions). I have also had 4 "new" pepperpot alloys fitted all wearing the correct Goodyear tyres with excellent tread depths. I replaced the saggy rear parcel shelf which had aftermarket speakers in it with an original ford item in A1 condition.  I replaced the aftermarket stereo with an original Ford radio that would have been fitted when the car was supplied new and rewired the original speakers. I fiited an original 1980's RGA front spolier to the car (and colour coded it) as I feel it gives the car a more powerful look.
I have a file full of history for the car (Old MOT's. Services. Parts etc) and the original handbooks.
The car is 30 years old in a few weeks. so please bear this in mind. My Capri is NOT a concourse example - it is a well maintained. reliable old Ford that requires another loving home.
The exterior of the car is good - having had a full respray by the previous owner - but there is very small bubbling of the paint in a couple of places - but this is a very minor cosmetic issue that can easily be rectified if needed (I have not bothered because nobody notices them unless you point it out).
The interior of the car is also good and original - Shark grey Recaro seats. very minor wear on the Drivers Side Bolster from getting in and out. The dash is completely crack free (which is rare!). The car has an electric aerial and all electrics work with the exception of the rear wiper and heated rear screen (I have not fixed as the car is only used on dry summer days). The interior heater fan works on both speeds.
Any questions feel free to email me - I welcome viewings prior to the end of the auction - much better to see what you are buying first - that is how I bought this car 8 years ago.

There has been a lot of interest in the car over the past few days - 5000 views and nearly 300 watchers. The car is available for viewing from Friday afternoon. right through the weekend until the auction ends. If you would like to view please message me to arrange a time - I am more than happy to accommodate and I can recommend the fish and chips in Hornsea!
