Highly accurate Cobra 427 Roadster Continuation with Shelby American Chassis CSX6162. Not to be mistaken for a “kit car”. this Cobra originates as a painted rolling chassis from Shelby American. Inc.  The chassis comes with a Carroll Shelby signed MSO listing it as a 1965 Cobra.  Current MSRP on this rolling chassis with factory installed options is $86. 00. As a Shelby Factory Dealer we must put down  a 50% deposit and wait a year for a rolling chassis such as this.  This specific example has been finished to appear outwardly as true to the original car. but with several performance and reliability upgrades. No corners were cut and premium parts were used throughout. This is a new car. The accumulated miles are chassis dyno time and a few short trips to make sure everything is sorted out.

The 452ci engine was built by one of the top US engine builders with many road racing. drag racing. nbsp;truck pull and off road racing championships under their belt. The emphasis was placed on building a very durable and streetable engine which made 558hp@6000rpm and 545ft lbs @4400rpm with a mild street cam when properly broken in and tuned on the engine dyno.  

The engine has been dressed with many correct parts including Aviaid oil pan. Sandcast Cobra valve covers. medium riser intake. Lemans Carburetor and “Turkey Pan” air box. The original Ford dual point distributor housing exchanges the dual point unit for a hidden pertronix electronic unit to send strong. reliable spark though an original style cap and vintage Ford Racing wires. The bellhousing is an SFI approved Lakeland scattershield housing a Mcleod dual performance clutch actuated by a Kirkham billet Aluminum clutch for and slave cylinder for very pleasant and reliable clutching action. The factory fuel system has also been replaced with a simplified and more reliable electric pump and regulator.  

Power runs through an originally style 800hp rated blueprinted toploader with treated gears. The car also features original style swept forward shifter. black cramic coated headers and side pipes. Raydyot Mirrors and Lucas headlight and removable tonneau cover to add to overall aesthetic authenticity. With the market for aluminum bodied original cars going though the roof. an example such as this is as good as it can get for most enthusiasts and collectors and the driving experience is priceless.
