This is a very original and clean 1965 Cadillac Convertible.   I bought the car 12 years ago in 2001 in Portland Oregon and had it shipped to Massachusetts. The car had one proud owner from new to 2000.   The car was always garaged in Portland OR since new. then In late 2000 it was sold by the original owners grandson to his buddy who then sold it to me in April of 2001. I had it shipped  to Mass where I've driven it only on nice warm days and it is always garaged. I was attracted to it's all original straight condition. It has been a pleasure to own and a pleasure to drive!

When I got the car home some things were too original and needed replacing. I had to replace the top. and of course replaced the belts. plugs. tuned it. put a fresh battery in it (last year). and put a set of new radials on it two years ago. I also had the carburetor rebuilt. but I think it would be a good idea to have the fuel tank cleaned and resealed. It does seep a little gas. Also the car needs a muffler. there is a small hole. I bought a front end kit too but never installed it. The front end is ok and passes Mass inspection every year (including this year) so it is fine.

Body:

The car is west coast solid. No rot or rot repair anywhere. ever. The body is amazingly straight and honest. The floors. rockers. frame. door bottoms. lower fenders. everything is perfect The paint is 95% original. a bit thin but still has a sheen to it. There are some small surface nicks. some minor scrapes. There had been some spot re-spraying of the rear quarter. and one front fender was resprayed at some point. The bumper chrome is very good. The bumper front center portion has one bad spot. The rest of the front bumper is very very nice. The rear bumper is overall good but aging. The chrome and stainless trim is excellent.  All the glass is excellent.

Interior:

The interior is all original. The dash is really really nice. The dash pad is like new. so is the chrome surrounding everything. The clock still works sometimes. then stops. then works…at least it tries! The AM/FM radio works great. the  power antenna works great. All power windows work. power vents work. seat works.  The molded plastic bottom dash and door panels are yellowed. The carpet is faded. but nice shape otherwise. The rear seat cover is real nice but faded at the top. The front seat cover on the drivers side is split at the seams. The door panels and rear side panels are great.  I had a couple upholstery guys look at the interior and it can be repaired rather than replaced (if wanted). For example the original carpet can be dyed. the seats dyed. the front seat insert replaced or repaired (Jenkins has the correct Aztec emboss/perforated leather). the hard plastic re-sprayed. This would freshen the interior to new without ripping out and destroying the originality of the car.

Original Stuff:

All the books (owners manual. accessory booklet. top booklet) are with the car. Also. the car has one of the original tires in the trunk. the original mint boot in the rare original boot bag. and the block of wood for changing the tire. Mileage is 99. 00 plus. not 100 yet!

The color is Cape Ivory (code 40) with a rare and must have been a special order white with dk. turquoise dash cap and carpet. (code 355) .

This is a great ORIGINAL preserved never SCREWED with 1965 Cadillac Convertible. A real SURVIVOR.  A solid real good number 3 car that can be enjoyed as is or very easy to restore.  I think it's originality is great.
