1975 Wolkswagen Type 2 Campmobile--Day Camper

I have owned quite a few Volkswagens but this 1975 VW Kombi Campmobile (day camper version) is the best I have owned. This wasn't just my opinion but the person I bought it from felt the same way. He had intended it to be a show car since the condition of the vehicle was several steps above the usual VW buss. He took the time to disassemble and paint the undercarriage. Unfortunately. he passed away before realizing his dream.

It has never been in any form of a serious accident and with the exception of a 4 inch rust-out under the battery it has never had any rust. The best part is the interior. It has all the original upholstery and furniture in excellent condition. The most unusual part is a divider between the front and rear cabin. I have seen hundreds of busses but I never have seen one with this feature. I don't know if this is a factory piece or aftermarket but it not homemade. The bus is a European model because it has aluminum trim on the furniture instead of the plastic trim on the US models.

 I also wanted to make it into a show vehicle but. as with many things. I never quite had all the money required for a complete restoration. I did restore the mechanicals including having the engine rebuilt by a 35 year Volkswagen technician. I elected to increase the horsepower since most busses are somewhat under powered. It has been bored out to 96 mm using forged pistons increasing the displacement from 1800cc to 1911cc. It has a Scat RV cam and lifters and 39. 5mm stainless steel intake valves and 33mm stainless exhaust. It has an electronic 050 distributor. dual 42mm Kadron carburetors and a full flow oil system with filter. The engine has been balanced and everything else has been replaced and brought up to factory specifications. It's not a hot rod but it will go up most hills without having to downshift. The engine only has about 2500 miles on it and still is getting broke-in. The rest of the undercarriage has been inspected and rebuilt as necessary. This includes 4 new 6 ply commercial tires (busses don't work well with passenger car tires due to the weight and center of gravity. ) I replaced the windshield with a tinted banned one and added an EMPI shifter. I never could afford a high dollar paint job but I did put a good street quality paint job on it a couple of years ago. Everything works with the exception of a few minor things such as the radio (it's AM) and the dome lights. The dash pad is cracked but considering the age of the vehicle it is in quite remarkable condition with few defects--if you have questions please ask and also please read and understand the terms and conditions listed below before bidding.

The following terms of sale apply to this vehicle.

Deposit
The successful high bidder will submit a $500 non-refundable deposit (this shows you are serious about buying and not playing games) within 48 hours of the close of the auction to secure the vehicle. I prefer Paypal. but a bank transfer. cash (in person) or overnight certified check for the deposit is also acceptable. Failure to submit. within 48 hours. the deposit will result in the vehicle being relisted and negative feedback.

Payment Methods
CASHIERS CHECK. CASH In Person (preferred). . CERTIFIED BANK CHECK. nbsp;BANK TRANSFER all funds must be in US dollars only. Please be sure to have full payment in place before making your final bid. After the sale is finial. I will hold the title for 7 days to allow for the balance to be paid in full with cash (in person) or bank transfer.  I will not consider extensions for any reason.  Contact me if you have questions.

Payment of Balance Due
The buyer agrees to pay remaining balance due (plus applicable fees and taxes if bought by a resident of Colorado) within 7 days of the close of the auction. All financial transactions must be completed before delivery of the vehicle.  Final payment must be made with certified funds such as a CASHIERS CHECK. CERTIFIED BANK CHECK. BANK TRANSFER. nbsp;or CASH (in person). If the vehicle is to be picked up at night or on the weekend. and you are paying in anything other than cash. arrangements must be made to authenticate your payment between my bank and your bank before I will release the title to the vehicle.

Airport Transportation

I will try to pick you up if you are flying into the Colorado Springs airport (sorry. but I won't go to DIA) but I can not guarantee availability. Please contact me first and I will try to help. Also be sure to bring your own license plates or some form of insurance paper-work so you may get temporary Colorado plates because the plates do not go with the vehicle.

Shipping
I expect the vehicle to be picked up within 7 days but I realize this isn't always possible and I will try to work with you provided the balance is paid in full within 7 days. If you desire shipping by a third party. the buyer is responsible for all shipping charges.  I can help with shipping but I will not be held responsible for damages to the vehicle incurred after the sale is complete. If the vehicle is going to be shipped. full payment within 7 days must be received before the vehicle is delivered to the shipping company. Contact me if you wish to discuss pick-up or shipping.

Buyer's Inspection
Every effort has been made to accurately and fairly describe this vehicle to you. I have tried to disclose all information known about this vehicle. If you have a question. either email me before the end of the auction.  Please be advised that this is a used vehicle and will have some defects and mechanical parts that could be subject to failure.  In other words. this is not a new car but a used car in very good to excellent condition. I welcome and recommend a buyer's inspection.  If you plan to have a buyers inspection. Contact me for an appointment and please make sure you inspect the vehicle prior to the auction ending.   After the end of the auction. the sale is considered complete and any attempt to negate or negotiate the sale will be in violation of a legal contract and will be treated as such. The buyer is responsible for any inspection charges and fees.

Warranty
This vehicle is pre-owned and sold in "AS-IS" condition with "No Implied Warranty".   No representations or warranties are made by seller. nor should any representations or warranties be relied upon by bidders in making bids

Bid Retractions
Bid retractions are not allowed nor will be recognized within 24 hours of auction end.  I will not be obligated to sell the vehicle in the event of a late or last minute retraction. In the event of a bid retraction within the last 24 hours of auction I reserve the right to cancel the auction and relist the vehicle.   

Blocked Bidders
I do not allow bidding from negative feedback bidders or any bidders that are not Paypal verified. New bidders with zero feedback must contact me prior to bidding.

Successful Bidder
The winning bidder will be contacted via email after the auction closes or he/she must contact me and pay the deposit within 48 hours to proceed with payment and delivery arrangements.

Non-Paying Bidder
If the deposit is not received within 48 hours of the close of auction or if the balance is not paid in full within 7 days following the close of auction. I reserve the right to re-list the vehicle or sell the vehicle to the next highest bidder or another qualified buyer and I will contact Ebay and deliver negative feedback.
