This 1968 Corvette C3 Convertible is not exactly a barn find. but it has been covered and garage kept since the early 80's.   I knocked the dust off this roadster and found the original build sheet (tank sticker) showing the original color combo of Corvette Bronze with Tobacco Dark Brown vinyl interior that is in excellent condition. M21 4-speed transmission. with 370 posi-rear end. power steering. power disc brakes. tinted glass and it still retains the factory AM/FM radio (the light comes on but no stations will come in).   The rag top and exhaust are original.   The 1968 factory convertible top is in good shape for being 45 years old.   The original removable hardtop and owner's manual are also included. The car just had its first repaint and the door jams are still the original paint.   The chrome bumpers are in very good condition with no dents with good shine on the chrome.   The seats and carpet were correctly redone in the mid 80's and very nice.   The birdcage. gauges. dash. sill plates and door panels are in very good condition.   The tires are new BF Goodrich radial TA's with 235x70x15 on the rear and 225x70x15 on the front and mounted on Corvette ralley wheels with trim rings and center caps.   This is such a great car retaining so much originality; it could easily be restored into a concourse winner.   Or. it is a great conversation piece to drive it as it appears today as a good old survivor of 45 years.  Mileage currently shows only 97. 50 miles which I believe to be original and accurate.  However. I am the 3rd owner and do not have any way to prove it over the last 45 years of ownership.

A local Corvette shop went through the brakes (replaced hoses. master cylinder etc. ) and went through all the steps to start up and check a car that has set for over 30 years (replaced fuel lines. new fuel pump. drained and cleaned fuel tank. replaced coolant hoses. new water pump. new timing chain. rebuilt Rochester carburetor. checked all fluids. changed oil. greased all fittings. replaced power steering valve. replaced headlight actuator seals and dust boots. replaced relay valve and all new vacuum hoses. replaced control arm bushings and ball joints. new strut rod bushings. new plug wires. new heater core and hoses. replaced upper and lower shift boot. new oil pump. new pressure sending unit line. replaced emergency brake handle and cove. new battery etc. )  This is an excellent driving and handling Corvette that you can drive and enjoy the car just the way it is or an easy concourse restoration.   Everything is tight and fits nice and even as if it just came off the showroom floor.

This is a super solid California car. excellent rust free frame. all original black fiberglass (without a lot of extra bondo/fiberglass buildup/repair in the wheel wells). doors open and shut very smooth with no sagging.   The very original and clean engine compartment retains the matching number original 327-350 HP engine with a new camshaft and lifters which starts and runs excellent. plus a new clutch.   The headlights work and pop up and down. the windshield wiper tray and windshield wipers work as they should. the directional's work and cancel properly. the dash lights and the gauges all work (except the clock).   The matching numbers engine pad stamp is shown in pictures. but difficult to get the entire stamp in picture.

Like the old saying goes “it's   only original once”.   There is no shortage of over-restored show queens out there but sympathetically revitalized pieces like 1968 roadster are an increasing rarity.   This is that chance to get on of Americas finest classics which is becoming harder and harder to fine. especially in this innocent condition.

I am by no means an expert on 68 Corvettes but I gave you a run down as I believe it to be true based on what people have told me and research.   I am sure that I have missed plenty of items but I tried to paint a picture of how original this car is and what it has and doesn't have.   This car is being sold in "AS-IS" condition. absolutely no guarantees or warranties are expressed or implied. The car can be available for inspection.   Please ask any questions that you might have before you bid because I might have missed something or miss stated something. I will answer questions to the best of my ability. I have a modest reserve on this car. very reasonable for the originality and condition. It is not a new car but it has had some restoration done but it was many years ago.   Ask questions first. then bid to win.  If your rating is less than 5 your bid will be removed unless you have talked to me first.   Successful bidder must make $2000 deposit within 48 hours and the balance within 7 days.   Deposit is accepted through PayPal and balance through direct deposit.   Check with your wife and/or banker before you bid and please don't bid if you don't plan on buying.   I reserve the right to stop the auction at any point in time for any reason.

Shipping is solely the responsibility of the buyer.   I will assist making the car available in a location for easy loading for a transporter.
