You are viewing an Exceptional 1-Owner 1985 Mercedes Benz 300 CD Turbo-Diesel 2+2 Sport Coupe. Outfitted in beautiful Astra Silver metallic with Blue interior. This is an incredibly well preserved/1-Owner Survivor car that is being offered for sale for the first time.

 

This vehicle has been a lifelong Virginia car and has always been garage kept and dealer maintained.  We have uploaded many detailed photos and information about this Very Rare vehicle.

If you have been searching for a 100% Original 300D Coupe that is realistically priced you should consider this ultra rare example.  

 

EXTERIOR

 

Exterior paint is All original and in excellent/Original condition. Paint has a very nice shine and there is no evidence of any prior repaint. The imperfections worth noting are on the drivers front door (beneath moulding) there was a prior key scratch many years ago which was touched up and can be seen upon close inspection.

The trunklid has a prior keyscratch mark. again it was touched up years ago and is noticeable however I feel does not warrant further repair or repaint due to the originality of the car. There are some touch up marks on the right rear quarter (by fuel filler door) that simply appear to have been gas pump related over the years. not dings just a handfull of minor chips that were touched up.  

Overall when you see the vehicle in person it looks very nice. Basically 30 year old Mercedes Paint which has been very well cared for that has normal wear-tear.

 

All gaps on all bodypanels are perfect. doors open and shut perfectly. All of the door jams are mint as well as inner fenders. All Vin# decals are intact as well as original Body-Plate and ID Tag under hood.

This car has never had an accident and it has a clean Vehicle history report as well.

INTERIOR

 

The interior is Very nice and original. It has Never been smoked in and all of the seats are very nice. The drivers side seat bolster was showing some minor color loss so we had the outside bolster redyed in the correct color(picture prior to repair). All carpets are Very nice and clean. wood is Very nice. Door-panels excellent. headliner excellent and tight and the dash is mint with exception of a (1. 5 Inch) crack in the very upper right hand corner(near windshield).  

Rear trunk compartment has its original mat and the spare tire has never been used. It even has the original instructions wired onto the wheel. nbsp;Also the original Tool-Kit is present.  It still sports its original MB Becker radio which works.  

 

MECHANICAL

 

The vehicle runs Incredible!

 

We have just performed much service work as a result of the vehicle having been in a Garage/stored for sometime.

 

We have just performed a Virginia state safety inspection. Fresh oil-change. Coolant flush. new thermostat. New hood Release-cable. New wastegate switchover valve. new Air-Filter. fuel-filter. pre-filter and a new OEM Hood pad.  

All of this service work was performed by a 30-year Mercedes-Tech who ironically used to work for the original selling dealer.  

Other items notated by the technician were the exhaust has recently been replaced and the undercarriage is in immaculate condition consistent with the exterior and overall originality of the vehicle.

 

HISTORY

 

To reiterate this was a 1-owner vehicle and the prior owner was elderly and No longer able to drive.  

The vehicle was originally sold (10-11-84)by ASC (American service Center) in Arlington Va. It is still in business today. The vehicle has all of its original books. manuals. both keys and the original Protecto-Plate.

As well we have the original dealer adendum sticker showing a Total MSRP of $36598. The service booklet has stamps ie" service records up to 90k miles done at the dealer.

 

DRIVEABILITY   

 

The vehicle runs excellent. Turbo comes right up on boost and the vehicle has really good power. Transmission shifts smoothly and correctly. A-C has been converted to 134-A. All accessories work properly including Power-Sunroof. It is sitting on 4-Nice Michelins which are about 70% tread-life.

After the recent service work I would not hesitate to drive this unit anywhere. If it needed it we fixed it.

 

BOTTOM-LINE 

This is a Very-Nice/Unmolested and Very-Low mileage example of a Classic 300 design.  This platform of M-Benz has had much Recent appreciation in value and interest. in particular the coupes.

 

Many feel these cars will continue to appreciate in value and certainly documented/original examples such as this are a Great investment.

 

Bare in mind it is Almost 30 years old so it is NOT perfect.  As stated it has its flaws although very minor/typical of a vehicle this old. You will be Very impressed with the overall cleanliness. extensive documentation and VERY-LOW Miles.
