1938 Rolls Royce Wraith Hearse Alpe and Saunders body of Royal Kew Gardens 
For Sale. our beloved vintage hearse called "Winston".
"Winston" is a 1938 Rolls Royce Wraith Rolling Chassis WEC 35. It was first bodied by Park Ward as a Six Light Limousine on the instruction of His Majesty's Goverment for duties to the Paris Embassy.  
Before the invasion of France WEC 35 returned to London and following the change of PM. nbsp;Winston Churchill was photographed leaving number 10 in a Park Ward bodied Rolls Royce.  
After the war years the car was sold to be re-bodied as a hearse by Coach Builders Alpe and Saunders of Royal Kew Gardens and as such was re-registered 7th August 1953 with the current registration NYM 267.
"Winston" was first sold to Banks Funerals. nbsp;Wigan 5th May 1954.
During the course of the years "Winston" carried out funeral duties as well  as some TV and film work. such as  "True Dare Kiss" by Debbie Horsefield  for the BBC in January 2007. /span> "United" staring Dave Tennant in December 2010 and "North West Tonight " in November 2006.
In 1998 "Winston" underwent extensive restoration. nbsp;followed by  a bare metal respray in masons black. The windows were resealed. the front  bench seat and front bearers seats re-trimmed in blue leather  and the woodwork repolished .
The 4. 2 litre six was overhauled and serviced by Rolls Royce specialists with front suspension. steering pin joint and brakes overhauled.  
The current owners have owned this car since 11th October 2004 and have maintained it to the highest standard.    
The vehicle. as it stands today. is in very good working order and is still in use for special occasions.   The body work is in good condition. nbsp;but please bear in mind that this vehicle is not brand new.
"Winston" has covered 90. 20 Miles  in his life and has many years left in him.
