1976 Pontiac 50th Anniversary Special Edition TransAm                                                                             This is a rare opportunity to own one of the nicest factory 1976 Pontiac TransAm's left in existence.  This is the REAL DEAL. not a tribute car. re-creation. or the typical clone. This is an authentic code 19 Starlight Black TransAm with the Gold Special Edition 50th anniversary package. including the infamous "Screaming Chicken" in all his glory spread out across the shaker hood.  This hard to find Black and Gold Bird is completely documented as one of the 1628 L-78 TransAm's made in 1976 as verified by the Pontiac Historical Society. This T/A was originally purchased at Kern Motor Company. Inc. located at 2110 Valley Avenue in Winchester. Virginia brand new on September 13th. 1976. but spent the majority of its life in sunny Florida. Therefore. being a southern car these floors and frame have never had the rust issues like the majority of these cars did coming from the colder states.   The body on this TransAm is virtually laser straight with only 51. 04 original miles stated on the title from when it was transferred in 2006.  The car currently has 51. 86 miles showing on the odometer. so that shows me how very little this Widetrack Pontiac was actually on the road. The Starlight Black paint was only refinished once during the past 38 years about a decade ago according to the prior owner. All of the factory correct decals were replaced at that time. It has always been garage kept. and shows only minimal wear. This T/A was purchased around 8 years ago at a live auction for $25. 00 dollars by a middle-aged gentleman for his wife who sadly came down with cancer. I made the purchase from her family. They said this TransAm does have the factory original  numbers matching Big Block 400 paired up with the original Turbo Hydromatic 400 transmission. The factory shaker assembly is the un-tampered with original shaker that came with this car when it was ordered new. The inserts were never cut-out like the overwhelming majority of these shakers have missing. I had purchased this car out of their long term storage. so I recently had a brand new gas tank installed. and the original carburetor rebuilt to factory specifications. This Black Beauty starts easily. and steers very tight and responsive.  A true dual exhaust system was recently installed with all new pipes. mufflers. and the correct chrome exhaust tips. This highly optioned Y-82 Special Edition 50th Anniversary TransAm came with all of these factory options. including the in-dash tachometer with clock. dual sport mirrors with the drivers side being remote controlled. power front disc brakes. cruise control. tinted glass. power windows. and Radial Tuned Suspension. The Buckskin Tan custom trim group interior with Gold accents appears in very nice condition with the high back buckets. and factory console. The dash pad does have some imperfections. so finding a replacement with be up to the next owner if they so desire. This car has the factory AM/FM stereo radio. nbsp;but also has that highly sought after original 8-track player nicely at your fingertips in the center of the console. The original factory air conditioning is completely hooked up with a brand new air compressor. and has been upgraded to the 134 system to have ice cold air conditioning during those hot Florida summers. There is a newer set of four P235/60R15 inch raised white lettered B. F. Goodrich Radial T/A steel belted radial tires on the factory Gold Honeycomb wheels with all four center caps. and all four beauty trim rings. Those tires really allow this T/A to grip the road tight. and handle like a dream.  This TransAm still has its original Posi-traction rear-end. The Nada Classic Car Price Guide currently has the 1976 Pontiac TransAm Special Edition with the Big Block 400. and air conditioning listed at $35. 80 which they consider an excellent overall vehicle that was completely restored. or an original vehicle showing very minimal wear. Note: This value does not represent a 100 point show car or a #1 vehicle. Those vehicles can reach much higher prices. $23. 70 in average condition. which they consider in good overall condition that could be an older restoration or a well maintained original vehicle that is completely operable. The exterior paint. trim. and mechanics are presentable and serviceable inside and out. Nada classifies an average condition car to be considered a 20-Footer! Nada has the lowest condition valued at $11. 60 being considered a deteriorated restoration or a very poor restoration. but mostly usable "As-Is!" The lowest value does not represent a parts car. I would tend to think that anyone who saw this Special Edition TransAm would say that it is in far better than average condition. thus making this a diamond in the rough. I believe everywhere this car is driven. you will be the spectacle of the neighborhood. This Pontiac is an investment that will continue to rise as these cars have proven to consistently escalate in value. This car is for the guy or girl that always wanted one back in high school. or maybe wants to show off at their high school reunion to prove how cool they still are. Here is a prime opportunity to acquire your dream car at a nominal price. What you see is exactly what you get!! I try to list everything I can think of when I write a description. so every potential bidder can make the most informed decision prior to placing their bid.  If you feel I may have left anything out please ask as many questions as you like. I pride myself in answering every question in explicit detail with the utmost honesty. Feel free to call Ian at 773/551-5075 to ask any questions or to arrange an inspection prior to the end of the auction. All inspections must be done prior to winning the car. This awesome classic will have a new home on Sunday evening at 5:00pm Pacific. 7:00pm Central. or 8:00pm Eastern time depending on your location. This sweet TransAm is part of my personal collection located in Hollywood Florida. I am seven miles from the Fort Lauderdale Airport. so the winner can fly in and drive home. I believe this car can be driven anywhere with confidence. There are plenty of car shows starting in spring!! Thank You for taking the time to view my auction!!! Good Luck and Happy Bidding!!!
