EQUIPMENT

EXTERIOR
This RS2000 Custom is presented in its original Venetian Red paintwork which looks perfect against the cars retro styling and lines. The paintwork retains a deep shine with very few stone chips to report and all of the panels and bodywork remains very straight. The rear spoiler is free from any cracks or damage. as are both front and rear light clusters. The dual stripes that run the length of the car and the RS decals are all in fine order complementing the paintwork.

INTERIOR
The black Recaro sports seats still feel comfortable and supportive and remain in fine order for their age. The fishnet headrest are both in place and remain free from any damage. The rear seats are in especially good condition due to limited use over the years. The interior remains completely original and unmolested. the original period stereo is still to be found housed in the centre console.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The 2. 0 Pinto engine fires into life at the turn of the key and idles up to temperature with a familiar engine note. The 4 speed manual gearbox is a joy to operate. geared for low-end acceleration rather than high-end performance. it is most at home darting along the winding B-roads.

WHEELS. TYRES & BRAKES
The RS still sits on the correct 13" alloy wheels. With a beautiful deep polished lip. all alloys remain in good condition with no kerb marks to report. The wheels are shod in a matching set of Goodyear tyres that all have a plenty of tread. The brakes work well and pull the car up smoothly in a straight line.

HISTORY FILE
The RS2000 was first registered August 1979. The Escort was sold by the supplying dealer Frews Cars Ltd to the current owner who has cherished the car ever since. In the history file there are many invoices detailing service work and parts replaced over the years. as well as old MOT certificates to verify the mileage.

Astonishingly. the original Ford owner's handbook. operating guide and service booklet are all still present and in fine condition. a testament to how this car has been cherished throughout its life.
