Personal Comments:

A nice driver quality car. The car runs & drives nice. Convertible power top work great. Always an Arizona Rust-Free car. & same owner for 31 years. The engine isn’t correct but the rest of the drivetrain ie: Transmission & Rear-End. Interior is in great shape. Paint look very good for 10 year +. there I s a area in the passenger rear quarter panel where some paint shrinkage has occurred over time.  

History & Details:

*1969 Chevrolet RS Camaro convertible purchased in November of 1982 in Tucson AZ (RuthRauf Rd). The seller told me that the car had been sitting for 7 years in his backyard (that was where I found it) he said that he was the second owner. The front end was disassembled due to installing a new GM right front fender because the car had hit a light pole. The car had 48. 00 original miles.

A few months later I co-purchased a 1969 Chevrolet El Camino with a 350ci 4 bolt main. In 1983 I removed the El Camino block and had it rebuilt at a Tucson Speed Shop then swapped out the original 307ci with the 350ci. The following was done to the block:

Bored over 30cm. New 10. 5:1 pistons. 194 fuel heads. mild Engle cam. Motor was balanced and blue printed.

In 2000 the car was fully restored with a body off sub frame restoration. The following was performed:

Body and paint. Dupont Euro prime base/clear coat paint. DX11 paint scheme.

Under carriage completely restored.

New rear drum brakes. multi-leaf springs. drive shaft balanced.

Numbers matching Turbomatic 350 Transmission rebuilt.

Numbers matching 10 bolt limited slip rear end.

New fender well chrome trim. new rocker trim. new rally sport and Camaro emblems. new marker side light housing. new RS front grill. new RS door chrome inner and outer doors. new brake lines and new gas tank. New front end engine compartment wiring harness and complete RS headlight hose kit with new actuators and brackets. 1969 exhaust manifolds. flow master mufflers.

New GM valance and front lower panel. new right front fender. new GM cowl induction hood. New front air dam spoiler.

Sub frame fully restored and powder coated. Converted front brakes to disc. Power steering gear box inspected and cleared.

Interior converted to deluxe with Blk/White Houndstooth. New carpet. steering wheel. dashboard pad. fuel gauge and clock. New convertible top. pads and electric motor.

New front windshield. Driver floor pan and dashboard have been replaced.

New 15x7 Rally wheels. BF Goodrich radial T/A’s.

Car has 74. 41 original miles. The motor has 24. 00 miles since rebuild in 1983.
