“Pantera” is Italian for panther. and MotoeXotica Classic Cars has a full nut-and-bolt restored 1973 De Tomaso Pantera wait to add its prowess to your collection.

The Pantera was a sports car produced by the De Tomaso car company of Italy from 1971-91 with the last Pantera delivered in 1992. Several modifications were made for the second year of Panteras. A new four-bolt main Cleveland V8 engine from Ford was used but with more aggressive camshaft timing. Many other engine changes were made. including the use of a factory exhaust header.

Pantera popularity continues to skyrocket. and we have another GT4 steel flared example in our showroom ready to hit the open road. This insane Pantera has benefitted from a full ground-up restoration. and no expense was spared on both the interior and exterior —and the powerful engine!

The exterior is an illuminating pearlescent white and shows well in the afternoon sun. A Hall Pantera GTS kit has given the exterior an upgrade. The hood. wing. flares and wheels are all upgraded. look astounding and give this Pantera a fresh look. We will note that the horn is inoperable and the wiper blade arms have been removed. For this restoration. the body was stripped to bare metal. The interior is an elegant original style black with basket weaved seats that contrast with the white exterior. The dash and gauges appear original. and the gauges are functioning.

The engine bay received a complete upgrade starting with the professionally rebuilt Ford 351-CID Cleveland V8 engine — the correct engines for '72 Panteras — mated with a polished ZF five-speed manual transmission. The wiring and cooling system have been updated and are all new. The cooling system changes include the radiator. stainless pipes and green stripe hoses. There is an all new air conditioning system as well. but it is not hooked up. However. the hoses are included. An Ansa Big Bore exhaust completes the restoration package and roars when put through its paces.

This Pantera is ready to tear up the pavement with its restoration and professionally rebuilt engine. The wheels are all aluminum Ultra with knock-offs. Every major component of this car was either rebuilt. replaced or is new. Take your opportunity to make this a new piece in your collection.
