1975 TVR 2500M

This rare & unusual car was produced only from 1972 – 1977 and is just 1 of 947 produced. This beautiful numbers matching car is a result of a 6 year build. The mileage (original) at time of build was 65. 00. Today the mileage is 70. 66. The build included:

·         Full body paint (Audi TT silver)

·         Powder coated chassis

·         Rebuilt engine – 140hp (balanced & blueprinted)

·         Headers

·         Twin SU Carbs

·         Bosch coil- Pertronix ignitor/electronic ignition

·         Griffin aluminum radiator with twin fans

·         Rebuilt transmission

·         New clutch

·         New wiring harness

·         Fully detailed suspension

·         Spax adjustable coil-over gas shocks

·         Stainless steel braided brake lines

·         MagnaFlow muffler

·         Stainless steel exhaust

·         New interior

·         Smith gauges

·         Corbeau racing seats

·         Crow 5 pt harness

·         Grant steering wheel

·         Hand polished original T-Slot rims (5 total)

·         Pirelli P-4000 tires

 

                                         The Engine Build

The plan was to rebuild a roadworthy engine to a higher specification then the original (104BHP/7. 5:1 CR)

·         This was achieved by raising compression ratios. adding a mild road cam and re-tuning the SU Carb conversion.

·         Head was skimmed to attain a CR of 8. 5-9:1

·         Block was thoroughly cleaned (all freeze & oil plugs out)

·         Rebore to +0. 020”

·         Deck was surface checked for flatness. main bearing alignment checked.

·         Crank was reground (+0. 010 rods / +0. 010 mains) balanced & polished.

·         Flywheel. clutch and front pulley assembly new.

·         Pistons and connecting rod assemblies balanced &  matched.

·         Cylinder head valve job (3 angle seat)

·         Hardened valve seats were fitted.

·         Cylinder head skimmed to give 48cc volume and calculated compression ratio of 8. 75:-1 (stock is 7. 25:1)

·         Integral cam – Stage 1
