SELLER REMARKS

Cobra replicas are just about the most fun you can have on four wheels. and those with big block power like this very nicely built silver Cobra provide an experience that's pretty close to the original. That's a built 428 under the hood. and it's backed by a Tremec 5-speed and a performance suspension that's more than up to the job of putting the power down.

The kit is by Classic Roadster. LTD. and if you're familiar with new Cobras. they've been at it longer than almost anybody. The design captures the curves and scoops of the original and civilizes it a bit with a nip here and a tuck there to make it more user-friendly than an original. Finish quality is extremely good and you know that the guys tasked with getting the fiberglass shell into shape were paying attention in class. because it's nicer than most. The doors line up right. the hood fits flush. and you don't see any of the usual waves or thin spots in the 'glass that you'd find on poorly-prepped roadsters. The silver paint gives the brutal cobra a slightly sophisticated look you'll note that the burgundy racing stripes wrap into the hood and trunk jambs. which is always the mark of quality workmanship. The usual Cobra styling cues like a chrome roll bar for the driver. jacking stubs in place of bumpers. and Lucas-style taillights all help with authenticity. although I'm guessing nobody will mistake this roadster for anything but Shelby's finest.

The silver stripes running down the center of the low-back bucket seats give the interior a custom look. but upon closer inspection you'll see that it pretty much sticks to the original recipe. A beautiful wood-rimmed steering wheel is a correct reproduction and the simple Stewart-Warner instruments are fairly similar to AC's original Smith's dials. The shifter is from a 2003 Cobra and is linked to a Tremec TKO600 5-speed manual transmission. which really gives this car a wide performance envelope. There's also a powerful Pioneer 8400 touchscreen AM/FM/CD stereo head unit that powers an Alpine amp and JBL speakers stashed throughout the cockpit. including a pair in the beautifully crafted custom door panels. The trunk is also nicely finished with black carpets and a nice flat floor. so it'll carry a surprising amount of gear on your next road trip.

Despite the 427 valve covers. the engine is a 1966-vintage 428 that was prepped by Kim Barr Racing Engines and assembled by K&K Restorations. It's full of high-quality components. including a Scat forged crank. RaceTech forged aluminum pistons. a Comp Cams hydraulic cam. and ARP fasteners. With a Holley 850 and an Offenhauser intake. it grunted out a dyno-verified 534 horsepower and 573 pounds of torque. Since that dyno test. however. it has been upgraded with a set of Edelbrock aluminum heads. so it's probably closer to 600 horsepower today. It certainly looks the part of a Cobra powerplant and with those ceramic-coated side pipes. it has an awe-inspiring sound. The aforementioned Tremec 5-speed powers an 8. 8-inch Ford rear end full of 3. 73 gears. which are a great choice thanks to the wonders of overdrive. Disc brakes live at all four corners and peek out from inside those slick 17-inch Cobra alloys. which wear 245/45/17 front and 315/35/17 rear tires.

Cobras are all about raw horsepower. and this one definitely delivers in a very big way. The fact that it's also civilized and great-looking is purely a bonus. Call today!
