1997 BMW M3 for sale
Current customer rating: (71 votes ) based onI am a BMW enthusiast, owned many e36s over the years and still own 4 BMWs. I normally get all parts from FCP Euro, have documented many of my build journeys on bimmerforums over the years and have kept up with all maintenance over the years. Most of what I do is preventative. To the serious buyer, it's probably easier to have a phone or in person conversation. Otherwise, here goes..
Some of the upgrade highlights:
6-Speed e46 M3 transmission (Getrag 420G) swap
UUC Lightweight flywheel & M5 hybrid clutch
UUC short shift kit and DSSR
Underdrive pulley set
BMW Z3 M Behr Radiator
Eibach coilovers
AFE cold air intake
91 octane Shark Injector tune
Strut brace
Front subframe brace
Glass headlights (Angel eyes not hooked up)
Squared 18x9.5 OEM M-Parallel Wheels
Squared Goodyear Eagle 255/35ZR18 (great tread)
Adjustable rear control arms w/ polyurethane bushings
TONS of maintenance over the years. I will copy and paste my spreadsheet and share with new owner. Complete coolant hose & system replacement a few years ago, most suspension components with Lemfoerder, engine mounts, tie rods, front wheel bearings, etc. etc.
This car is a driver. It's not a show car. It's also 25 years old. I have done most of the mechanic work over the years but still has original paint, leather, etc. Paint looks good but does have some spots where the clear has started to peel, some nicks and scrapes here and there. Window tint was on when I bought the car, would be nice to re-do with carbon ceramic tint all around. Could also go for another headliner and pillar re-cover. They are ok but loose in some areas. Would be nice to have the seats re-covered, driver seat is torn on the bottom. The rest are ok and as expected for a 25 yr old car. The hard part is done, just needs a new enthusiast owner.
6 speed swap was done correctly with an OEM Euro trans mount, custom driveshaft made at a local driveline shop. Trans had 62k miles at the time of swap, probably has 90k now (detailed on my spreadsheet). Shifts perfectly and the 3.38 LSD complements it like it should have come from factory. Tires and wheels fit nicely and don't rub under 99% of driving. My last 245s never rubbed, but i like the 255s better. Lots of stuff I've not mentioned I'm sure. Makes me sad to sell but life changes and I needed a truck to pull trailers more than 2 cars..
Clear SC title. Fly to GSP and drive her home. I can help for out of town buyers but get your own shipping quote please. I can help load or whatever. Pick up in a reasonable time please, a week would be nice. Cash in person or wire or I meet you at Wells Fargo, funds must clear before I sign title over. No joy rides, serious buyers only. I hold the cash and you test drive with title.
