Note: A fellow 1800 enthusiast has informed me that the blue coupe is actually the rarest of all 1800 colors and this car is one of only 300 in this color which were only made in the 1971 model year!

PLEASE READ EVERYTHING BEFORE BIDDING:

A non refundable $500.00 deposit must be made via Pay Pal, by the successful purchaser within 24 hours of the closing of this auction.

These are not "salvage title cars", but something had to be selected from the listing format and eBay, in their infinite wisdom does not provide this option even though many 50 year old cars are sold with a Bill of Sale only...  A CT Bill of Sale is what these cars will be sold with.  Also the mileage is not a million miles, the odometers of these cars will need to be checked for the actual mileage...

So, what we have here is the classic "take two cars to make one" proposition.  That was clearly my original plan, but I now find that I simply have too many other projects ahead of this one...  This is a "no reserve" auction calling any Volvo P 1800 lover with limited funds but abundant optimism and free time on their hands!

If you always wanted one of these cool cars but can't afford $30 to $80 grand for a good one, (...have you seen what these are selling for these days?), and you are willing to put in some sweat equity, and/or pay some thousands dollars for some of the skilled restoration work, this just might be the "do it yourself" classic Volvo P 1800 project you have been looking for!

Both of these cars were built in 1971, which is often thought to be the best year for the these cars, with 4 wheel disk brakes, higher compression, more horsepower and fuel injection!

My thinking was that the light blue car was a good starting place to have the requisite body and paint work done. It is clearly not so rusty as to make you faint, (...like the other green car, which comes complete car with the engine, transmission, interior and other parts that you will need...) The blue car also has the rare and desireable optional alloy/steel wheels.

Incredibly, as you can see from the pictures, both cars have very nice dash boards, which, if you know these cars, is actually quite remarkibly rare.  Replacement of these are expensive indeed. Another great selling point of this project is that everything needed to completely restore these cars is readily available from various sources on the internet.

When you finish, you will have a lot of spare parts left over to sell (like a complete good dash, gauges, doors, fenders, hood and trunk and all the glass, suspension and brake parts, to name just a few).  This may well even return the bulk of your purchase investment!  Even if you contracted for much of the restoration work to finish the project, with today's values, you would likely never be upside down with this deal. (How many restoration projects can offer that?)

PLEASE NOTE: Both these cars are over 50 years old and as such, CT, where they came from, will not issue a title.  Both cars have been off the road for many years and will come with CT Q1 Bills of Sale ONLY. Check your state before you bid.  Purchaser is responsible for all taxes and registration expenses beyond the receipt of the Q1 bill of sale. Also NOTE: if you have less than 10 feedbacks or negative feedback, your bid will be automatically cancelled unless you contact the seller and have a discussion in advance.  ALSO: Ask any questions before you bid. This is simple and logical standard procedure and always quite obvious, but it is again, restated here for emphasis...

Payment can be made via pay pal, cash in person or bank check, wires transfer or other mutually agreed upon arrangements, however: FINALLY, PLEASE NOTE: Bills of Sale and keys will not be given and the cars WILL NOT BE RELEASED for transportation until all funds are accounted for or have been cleared through the bank and/or eBay. (Note: Cars are presently located in RI, not 02790)

Purchaser is solely responsible for all shipping expenses.  Seller or his representative will be available to meet the shipper to assist in loading the cars after the sale is completed. (at least 7 of the 8 tires are known to hold air.)

Here is the last additional random point of interest...  The blue good rolling chassis car was photographed and featured in the "ran when parked" section of the November 2021 issue of Classic Motorsports Magazine! This is probably your cheapest chance to own a bonafide magazine featured classic car for comparatively very short money indeed!
