2 Wheel Drive Half Ton Drives Great Original All Options Tow Package 392 Auto

Stock (other than tires/wheels and carb/air filter (Edelbrock)). original. great running. well-maintained. fully optioned. two wheel drive 1972 International Harvester Travelall 1010 (half-ton. independent front suspension) with factory tow package and Trac-Loc rear axle. This is a cool find and represented the top-of-the-line Travelall for the 1972 model year. It was delivered new to Bountiful Motor Sales in Bountiful. Utah and has spent its entire life in Utah and Idaho.

This rig was special-ordered new and fully optioned out. It represented the beefiest running gear (392cid V8. big brakes. upgraded cooling. HD suspension. tow package. Trac-Loc rear diff. etc. ) available for 1972 in the lightest (half-ton. 2wd) Travelall body. It's kind of a horsepower monster with the K&N Style Air Filter. 600cfm Edelbrock Performer Carburetor. and dual exhaust. The running gear is in excellent condition with any specifics noted above. It runs and drives great and everything mechanical works as it should. All fluids are fresh. Brake master cylinder and carburetor are brand new.
The interior is in excellent condition. All glass is good. Windows roll up and down properly. Doors close tightly with a solid thud. Both seats and rear carpet have worn very well. Front carpet has been removed (I still have it for a pattern if you want). Headliner is excellent. Dash lights and front interior lights work. All gauges work and dash has zero cutting or butchery of any kind. All buttons. knobs and switches are in place and operate properly other than the rear tailgate window. Even the cigarette lighter still works.
The exterior sheet metal represents the only weak point on this Travelall. I think the rare option package combo more than makes up for it though. Floorboards front and rear have rust issues that are not bad. Passenger side rocker panel is in bad shape. Both rear fenders need work. None of this is life threatening and has no effect on driveability. The frame is rock-solid as are all the body-to-frame attachment points. I have dozens of pictures showing every nook and cranny. This is a sweet ride. It's been used for what it was designed for. wears its age marks well. and has been properly maintained over the years. While her completeness and originality make a great candidate for restoration. I think she should be used and enjoyed by the next owner. Vintage SUV's like this can be restored over and over. but they are only original once.
