1958 Packard Sedan. (LOCATED IN RICHMOND VA (not Maine)  This is the 99th from the end of Packard, one of the last 100 Packards ever build.   Serial Number  58L8036 was ordered on June 23rd 1958 and came off the assembly line on July 16th 1958.  The last car was 58L8134 produced on July 25th 1958.   This example is in Parchment White with Power Steering, White Walls, Automatic and Factory Undercoating.

The car was last registered in 1976 in Oregon.   The owner from 1964 thru 1970 was Edward C Leum of Monmouth Oregon.  Registrations included with the car.

Packard cars of 1957 and 1958 were build on the Studebaker President platform using different front Clip and Rear Quarter panels styled to be a Packard.   These Packard's had a completely redesigned interior using Packard parts and components give them an entirely different look.

The car is rust free and extremely solid, no rust in the car other than surface rust on the front fenders.  This car would be a very easy restoration.   The engine needs to be rebuilt and the interior restored.  The outside of the car is original paint and could be easily repainted or left in it's original form, it's only original once.   The chrome shows off nicely and the stainless steel trim is all intact.       Brand New Coker Tires, one month old.   The interior seating and door panels are all there and can be restored and replaced.

The engine is a 289 Studebaker V8 connected to a Borg Warner Transmission.   Parts are readily available.

Drivers door is cracked but there is a replacement glass with the car.

Apparently, Mr. Leum named his car "SNOWFLAKE"   you can see the name on the odometer in the photo........I thought that was pretty neat!

Car is sold as is where is and is also being offered locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early if there are no bids.   As it's a no reserve auction, if a bid is made the auction will be allowed to run to conclusion.

UPDATE ON ENGINE,It's been verified today that the Engine in the Engine Bay is the original 289 Studebaker Engine.    I can't speak to it's running condition or if it's frozen or not.   Looks like someone tried to unlock it........The Engine number (ironically) is L1958, the car is VIN 58L8036, per the production order, the Engine number matches, engine Serial Number L1958, a pure coincidence that it's the same as the year, I had to double check at the Studebaker Museum and on line and that is the number for the engine for this car.   All matching numbers.
