Documents on the car's history indicate the Z/28 came from the mid-west and in 1989 at 100,000 miles the original owner had the exterior of the car repainted using lacquer paint. There was no bodywork repair needed! Apparently, all of the sheet metal on the car is original. The paint is not perfect and at close inspection has a few chips, scratches, and a small area of bubbling on the driver's side door (see photo). But, for a 32-year-old paint job it looks fantastic! 

Additionally, when the car was painted, the #'s matching engine (see photos) was professionally rebuilt. This includes Magnafluxing and Align-honing the block, TRW pistons, complete balancing of the internal rotating assembly, three-angle valve job with stainless steel valves added and a Competition Cams hydraulic flat tappet cam with intake and exhaust lift of .486 and duration at .050 of 230 degrees. To top it off a Winters aluminum intake manifold and 650 cfm Holley carburetor were added. 

The ignition was upgraded by using a Pertronics electronic distributor kit.

At the same time as the rebuild, a Tremec TKO 600 5-Speed transmission and clutch pack were added to help on the gas mileage with the original 3.73:1 posi-traction rear differential. The original M-21 close ratio 4-speed, cross member, and driveshaft are included.

Total mileage since the rebuild is 19,000!!

The interior is original too and in excellent condition. No apparent wear or torn stitching is evident. All of the gauges including the clock and radio work perfectly and there is no evidence of cracking on the dash pad. New seatbelts with a shoulder harness were added and the originals are included.

The A/C compressor does work, but no cold air comes through in the interior. It could be the expansion valve or the dryer (new one included with sale). Not sure.

Current owner has had the Camaro since 2015 and added sub-frame connectors, new body mount bushings, front steering components, suspension bushings and ball joints, rear leaf springs with bushings, and brakes. The original 15” wheels were repainted, and it rides on B.F. Goodrich T/A radials.

Included with the sale are new full-length bumpers, split front bumpers, door glass, and dash pad.

The Z draws attention at every show, starts easily, performs well, and is a pleasure to drive.
