1968 Mklll 1275cc MG MIDGET BLUE for sale

1968 MG MIDGET – The MG Midget is a small two-seater sports car produced by the MG division of the British Motor Corporation from 1961 to 1979. It revived a famous name used on earlier models such as the MG M-type. MG D -type. MG J-type and MG T-type.

The Mklll MG Midget was given a raised “1275cc” engine that had been developed within the Mini Cooper S project at BMC to raise performance from the smaller capacity of its predecessor. Early models such as this still maintained the “square wheel arch” shape until January 1972 along with chrome bumpers.

This particular example is prepared stunningly in every way.  A “Tax exempt” UK example first registered in August 1968; purchased from a local ”farm sale” after the previous owner sadly passed away earlier this year.   A full “body off” restoration was completed in December 2012 where the following components were replaced/upgraded: All suspension springs replaced all around. front and rear brakes overhauled (calipers. discs. pads. shoes. drums. Jan-speed “front to rear” stainless exhaust system fitted. Kenlow electric cooling fan. new kingpins. Full body re-spray. anti corrosion protection. front anti-roll bar fitted. X4 brand new “Michelin Classic” tires fitted (spare fitted with a new Pirelli)

A restoration completed to this standard would cost in excess of £15000 subsequently representing fantastic value at a sale price of just £7995
