1966 Austin Mini Cooper Mk1

 

Red body with black roof. recently re-painted in this great colour combination.

The body shell is one of the best ive seen. no rust. bubbling or poor fitting panels. All the usual mini problem areas are good and strong. e. g. A panels. floors. sub frame mountings etc. The car is red under the arch's and inside the boot and under carpets. It has been black stone chipped (not underseal which never dries and attracts dirt) under floors for protection and looks very neat and presentable. The car was left in a barn for years and when discovered the car was rebuilt into a later shell which was converted to original Mk1 looks. with correct lights. grille and bumpers etc. This is documented on the V5 which still states it's a 1966 manufactured mini cooper. All that remains is to drill a second hole as a dummy RH tank. fit badges and either fit Mk1 doors which I have a pair that need re skinning or change the hinges to external. I will include the doors in the sale. the interior would need mk1 seats and a different wheel to go back to mk1 appearance however it is very presentable as is with its new carpets.

 

5 nearly new 10” ‘Avon safety' wheels

5 brand new Falken tyres

 

Cooper S front brake disc conversion fitted

 

The car is mechanically perfect and is standard. runs well with no knocks bangs etc. A very nice and fun mini to drive.

 

It's a historic tax exempt vehicle meaning its free tax forever – 12 months currently on it.

 

MOT'D until July 2014 with no advisories.

 

This is a perfect car to get in drive and enjoy straight away with the potential to do small improvements in the future making it a perfect car for an enthusiast as all the expensive Labour intensive work is done.
