Offering For Sale a Rust Free, Straight, very good running driving, well preserved, 1930 Model A Coupe with some traditionally styled updates wheel / suspension updates to give the car an eye catching rake / stance.Equally appreciated by both the Traditional Hot Rod, and Early Ford crowd, this is a car you can have fun with at a wide variety of events in both genres. I purchased this car in fall of 2019 from a couple in their 90s, who had owned it since 1957. The previous owner, Bob, said this coupe was the nicest, straightest coupe he could find in 1957, and he was realizing a life long dream of owning one at that time. At that he was the 3rd owner of the car, the 2nd owner “JJ” carved his initals in the steering wheel in the 1940s, and of course that is still there. The first owner was a female schoolteacher who didn't drive it much. So, amazingly, I am the 4th owner of this almost 100 year old automobile. Adding to the charm, this coupe was being literally being stored in a red barn in Ohio, Bob and his wife when I found it. Upon getting the car home, I decided it was too nice to Hot Rod, and pursued the route of a creating a eye catching “Gentleman's Coupe” through some subtle bolt on modification, which could be reversed to stock if so desired. The 92 year old man I bought this coupe from, Bob, restored the car in the early 1980s, and did nice job, as the paint (while not AACA show quality) is very smooth, and very straight. Bob told me there is no patch panels and no body filler in this car, and having been all over the body with a very light magnet, I absolutely believe him as the magnet sticks equally, and firmly everywhere, even in classic Model A problem areas like door bottoms, bottom of cowl and lower quarters. Door fit is very nice for both doors and decklid. The interior is a nice correct LeBaron Bonney reproduction, with nice seat, inner panels and headliner. All gauges work and all lights work too. Electric Windshield Wiper on Drivers Side. This is a standard coupe, with a rumble seat, which is also fully finished. The frame and running gear are super straight, clean and rust free, and look to have been very well maintained over the years. Bob was a full time heavy equipment mechanic and this coupe was his pride and joy and it shows. The engine bay is not detailed, but has some nice new parts including a new Snyder's “Leakless” Water Pump. As mentioned above, it always starts, idles smoothly and makes good power. Still has throttle and timing advance on steering column. 6 volt system. Aftermarket coolant temp gauge below dash. The engine runs very well, and is easy to start every time, even in the dead of winter, below freezing. It operates on with it's original 6 volt system, and I have replaced most of the wiring with correct cloth reproductions and added a fuse for safety. This Model A runs and drives well and is capable of running 55-60 mph comfortably on the highway, as long as you are not planning on passing anybody. The car is happiest at 50 mph 2 lane roads. Top speed of 65-70 is possible, but not recommended, engine is most comfortable at lower RPM'sThis is stock Model A transmission which means either taking your time between shifts, or double clutching. From what I have read and heard this seems correct.Stock Mechanical Brakes are very clean, and linings look thick and fresh. Brakes work well for the speeds that the car operates in.Front Suspension: Stretched / Dropped Model A front axle from Okie Joe. NOS 1932 Ford Spindles with machine shop honed bushings mated and matched to new KingPins, Extended 1932 Spring Perches, Reverse Eye front spring with a few leaves removed to achieve the stance. Professionally rebuilt Ford Model A shocks with “shorty” Dog Bone Shock Links. Super straight, powder coating 17” 1933 Ford Wire Wheels with brand new Firestone Bias Plys. Reproduction Stainless Steel Hubcaps. Rear Suspension: Reverse Eye Millworks AV8 rear spring. Professionally rebuilt Ford Model A shocks with “shorty” Dog Bone Shock Links. Super straight, powder coating 18” 1932 Ford Wire Wheels with brand new Firestone Bias Plys. Reproduction Stainless Steel Hubcaps.Dropped, chromed headlight bar. Stock bar could be included if desired. The next owner could have a lot of fun detailing the engine bay, addressing some needed gaskets, maybe do a dual carb, aftermarket head, intake exhaust Banger setup? It's up to you. Or just drive the car as is, and enjoy. In my opinion this car would be best for somebody who is looking for an excellent bodied 4 cylinder Model A, who is either looking to enjoy as is, on do some more subtle mods in the “Banger” GOW job genre. Clean / Current New York state paperwork in my name. Please call Ian with questions @ 330.607.2693 (I grew up in Ohio, hence the cell phone, but live in Buffalo, NY area now) after 5PM Eastern Standard Time, and talk with your Wife / Girlfriend / Husband / Boyfriend before bidding. I will happily provide more photos or videos of anything on this car. Thanks!
