It has also been with a local car repairer as an 'as and when fixer' but with no joy.Odometer reading is currently 82,004 miles.Since mid 2018 it runs fine when cold but as soon as it warms up, there appears to be some sort of fuelling issue as it floods the driver side bank on the V8. I have threads available from the internet that appear to suggest this precise symptom is related to a fault in the Electronic Engine Control Unit. These are replaceable but it is beyond my capabilities. We also have notes from the garage it was last with stating:Just wanted to advise you on what has been carried out to the car whilst in our care.01 cylinder leakage and compression tests02 Spark plug and HT lead replacement03 Fuel pump and fuel filter replacement04 Fuel line return pressure regulator and buffer replacement05 Fuel tank removal, clean out- debris found in supply port. Fresh fuel06 Various fuel injector migration to eliminate fuel injector faults07 Engine oil and filter change08 Engine timing check with co and hc adjustment.09 Distributor resistor pack replacement and wire checks.10 Various other check and adjustmentsIn a nut shell, we are still inducing a misfire on bank 1 cylinder 2 and 3. More minor multiple misfires on same bank. We have looked into possible ecu but at present have exhausted any company to check out the control units as they are now obsolete. Trying to get many parts are now very difficult. I do suspect our problem is lying with the control unit supply- but its going to need a fair amount of luck to find one, or find someone who can check and repair.Comes as it was sold originally although I suspect it has been resprayed during its life. Has the 'Mexican hat' wheels. It didn't have rear seats when new but it has after market ones installed.Comes with a trolley to store the hard top roof and the hard top roof is sold with the car in light green. Mechanism to unhook and reattach all works fine.No visible tears or wear in the soft top hood either, could do with the screen cleaning at the back with the kit we have available to do this.Note the car does still run as it stands, but only for very short trips!I knew we had another folder of documents......Certificate from 01/12/2005 from Mercedes Benz Classic in Stuttgart stating:Delivery date = 28/03/1974VIN - 107 044 22 020 079Body - 107 044 22 00 084Engine - 117 982 22 027 231Gearbox - 012 906and these are the same items and codes in the vehicle today. Also sheet showing the original specification at delivery being:DB code - lower paintwork - 862 pine greenDB code - upper paintwork - 861 silver greenDB code - upholstery - 065 fabric vellum-colourOptions listed401 - Single seats416 - Hardtop436 - Elimination of automatic safety belts467 - Instruments in English524 - Paintcoat preservation593 - Heat absorbing glass600 - Headlamp cleaning system613 - Lighting units for Left Hand lanes622 - Versions for GB666 - 10 litres of fuel740 - Folding top fabric 9001 black. There was also significant welding and making good work done prior to our ownership around the front of the sills and the jacking points as is a common issue with these cars. See photos. Our ownership has also involved heating unit replacement and welding and replacement seals in the boot.Added an additional photo showing how the 'two-tone' applies, as the hard top is a very pale colour, referred to as silver green as described above.
