1980 Porsche 924

I had a dream of owning a Porsche 924 since way back in high school, and in late 2012, while living in Denver, I purchased one – had I known then what I know now…The vehicle had been chopped up to make it into a track car, which is typical of the fate of many of these cars. The hood, fenders, front clip (etc) replaced with fiberglass aftermarket stuff, and the rear wells were chopped to accommodate larger wheels. The previous owner mangled the vehicle.My passion ran deep and I found a Porsche parts graveyard in Boulder Colorado and began purchasing parts, more parts and eventually a donor car to strip. I was determined to bring this car back to looking like the day it was born. I spent almost $19k on body work (yes, I have receipts) – the pop up headlights were reconstructed and the body is back to what it is supposed to look like. I have hundreds of photos of the body work in progress. The body work was done by The Metal Surgeon in Englewood, Colorado - they do amazing body work...feel free to look them up.Along with the body work, I also had over $8k of work done under the hood (yes, I have receipts).The seats are in great shape. My plan was to do a carpet kit and replace the dash with a donor (included) and associated mechanical parts. I also planned to replace the door cards – of which, 2 are included.The mechanical work was completed by Dart Auto in Commerce City, Colorado - they are known for excellent work on Porsche (Look them up). Here are just a few of the items done:*Fuel pump replacement*Brake drum*Fuel tank sending unit*Fuel accumulator*Timing belt and tensioner*Drive belt*Fuel line with metric adapters*Front suspension cross member*Alternator replacedNew tires mounted in 2012 at Firestone (Denver, CO) - less than 100 miles driven on these.We moved to California and the vehicle lived in our garage for a few years. In 2019 I needed to take a break from my crazy project and I put the car in storage – only to find that a rodent had eaten some of the wires under the hood. My big loss is your gain, and after a tough year of unemployment, I am putting the vehicle up for sale. The car is currently not running – please be clear on that. Also included are various bits and parts that I collected to use.
