1963 Austin Mini Mk 1 in Almond green with a white roof. This is a 2 owner Mini which has been restored to a very high level over a 12 year period by a mini enthusiast using well known specialist to help with the key areas. The body was restored by Somerford Minis and is one of the best MK 1 bodies that I have seen with perfect door fit which is very rare. The paint has a wonderful shine and it has the correct 4 vent sills and early front valance. The mini was then built up using quality parts. The subframes are all powder coated and all of the suspension parts are new or refurbished. It has Mini Sport 4 pot alloy brake callipers and 7.5 inch discs on the front and alloy Minifins on the rear with a new Cooper S master cylinder. It has Gaz adjustable dampers all round with Red spot Mini Spares cones for a softer ride plus Hi-lo's for adjustable height. It has fantastic Force Racing alloy wheels with matching Yokohama tyres which look amazing.
The engine was built by Brett Simms Motorsport and is a 998 cc bored out to 1046cc with a 10.5:1 comp ratio, MD266 cam, balanced bottom end, Lightened flywheel and ported 12G295 cylinder head with large valves and 1.3:1 roller rockers. Ignition is an electronic Alden Yellow with vacuum pipe. The gearbox is a remote type casing with A+ gear set fitted with a cross pin diff and built by Guess Works in Rugby.
A new wiring loom was fitted and it has been upgraded to an alternator.
The interior is all refurbished by Newton Commercial, the seats are the original MK1 Deluxe low back seats all trimmed in black. It has a MotoLita steering wheel with centre horn push and a heated rear window. It has rare 1960's rear bin lights sourced and fitted to both sides as well as rear under-seat wicker baskets. The seat belts are buckle style and it has a chrome JAG interior rear view mirror.
As you can imagine to buy a 2 owner original almond green MK 1 Mini and restore it to this level would cost a fortune. In my experience it would cost at least £25000 - £30,000 if you asked a Mini Specialist to source the original car and to complete the work.
