CHEVROLET CORVETTE 1978 INDIANAPOLIS PACE CAR.

Of all the Indianapolis Pace cars built. only 202 were ordered with the L82 engine & the M21 4-speed manual box plus the FE7 Gymkhana Suspension package. THIS CAR IS ONE OF THEM!

TOTAL MILEAGE FROM NEW -  27. 90 WARRANTED!

DOCUMENTATION.   There is no other Corvette in the UK with paperwork to match this car! Not one! In fact I doubt if there are many to match it in the world!

This car comes with a copy of the original enquiry letter to Chevrolet. nbsp;dated Oct 1977. nbsp;from the first owner. plus the reply from GM's marketing department. as well as the envelope the reply came in. then the original Order Sheet placed with McMahon Chevrolet  showing a $500 deposit taken. plus their receipt for that deposit. unbelievably - an original polaroid photograph of the car arriving at the dealership whilst still on the car-transporter. and get this - together with the signed acceptance sheet from the car-transporter driver. the original cardboard temporary testing plates used by the dealership. the full Purchase Invoice when later collected new from McMahon Chevrolet. the GM Window Sticker. the colour brochure from the showroom. the very first US Texas Title Deed then issued. absolutely all the GM literature that came with the car from new including the original and mint condition Pace Car Owner's Manual. the original GM option leaflet from the dealership offered to the customer. then the factory option list sheet supplied with the car showing the actual spec ordered. then a 9-page Technical Information Sheet from GM providing the absolute specification of the whole car. nbsp;GM's instruction sheet to install the front spoiler as these were dealer installed. plus GM's instruction sheet to install the door decals if the customer so desired. then the ever important Tank Sticker. Mileage Declarations in the States up until the car coming to the UK in 1991 at a mileage of 14. 58. UK mot's supporting it's mileage for the next few years until it was Sorned. and then all the Sorn Certificates to date covering no less than the next 12 years. plus virtually every single invoice ever spent on the car from new. Claremont Corvette's advertisement for the car in 1998 showing a mileage at that time of 23. 00. a copy of Classic & Sportscar from October 1992 where the actual car is well featured with photographs. In fact there's even stacks more that I haven't even listed. There's even the US Post Office receipt from 1977 for the original customer enquiry letter which was sent US Post Recorded Delivery.

Simply mind-blowing! This Corvette has paperwork most owner's dream about.  

INTERIOR.         Lovely. just lovely. and I would hazard a guess that it's virtually all original. Dash. door cards. carpets. seats. rear compartment area. t-top hold down straps. glass top carrying bags. all just lovely. even the original steering wheel is virtually as new.  I even think all the weather-seals are original and you wouldn't change any of them. Original radio/tape unit still in place. Both electric windows working perfectly as are the power door locks.

EXTERIOR.       Correct factory spoilers fitted front & rear plus mint condition factory glass roof panels.  The correct pin-lined alloys have recently been re-furbished and have just had a full set of Goodyear Eagles fitted all round plus all brand new centre caps etc. The exhaust has stainless back boxes. The main door decals are not fitted but are nevertheless in their cardboard tube in the rear of the car as GM intended. Underneath the petrol flip lid is all superb with a new tank neck rubber and locking cap just fitted.

MECHANICS.   Obviously the number matching 220 horse L82 is still in place and the stunning engine bay is virtually as it left the showroom. The a/c compressor & brackets have been removed but they are boxed and with the car. The callipers are stainless throughout and even the park brake works. The full suspension front and rear has recently been gone right through and a full polyurethane bush kit fitted. Both headlamps lift & close on command with new actuators. nbsp;plus the shoxs & rotors are recent.

SO THAT'S IT. FIND ANOTHER TO MATCH THAT !  This car has to be better than money in the bank. 27K plus a factory 4-speed L82 with Gymkhana pack. plus a history folder that cannot be matched anywhere !

I've started the bidding at £15. 00 and it won't be selling for less. let's see what it makes.

EXPORT & DELIVERY.   I ship weekly from Immingham to Gothenberg. Cuxhaven. Zeebruge etc and I have fantastic trade shipping rates with DFDS. all you have to do is collect the car at your port and drive it home. I can also deliver to any UK address for no more than the cost of the fuel my transporter uses.
