BMW E30 325 1989 Motorsport Convertible MTECH 2 Automatic unfinished restoration

Welcome to the sale of 1989 BMW E30 325i Motorsport Macau blue Convertible M-TECH 2 Automatic. This is an unfinished full restoration of my treasured classic car that I have owned for 4+ years.The 1st and 2nd pictures are of the car when I purchased it. At that time it was driving and running well being a complete car. It needed a replacement rear M-TECH 2 bumper (previous one was cracked), set of 15" cross spokes (car came with wheels in 1st/2nd pics, now sold) and dashbord (uncracked). I have all these available included with car!I wanted to bring the car back to its full original glory, so I embarked on a full restoration. Car was stripped, all but rolling gear and roof. Engine thoroughly checked with head and sump off. Head pressured tested and overhauled, skimmed, resurface valves and seats, and new seals, gaskets, etc. Sump cleaned, aluminium spray painted, and refitted with new gaskets, seals, o rings, etc. Engine has been removed, completed overhauled, nearly ready for refit, along with gearbox when car and engine bay is repainted. New Gates timing belt kit fitted, with new water pump and new themostat housing, gaskets, bolts, nuts, seals, etc. Cylinder head, engine block, gearbox and exhaust manifold have been spray painted with very high temperature paint in black matt and/or aluminium and all ancillaries too (Starter motor, alternator, engine mount brackets, air intake, rocker cover, sump, timing belt cover, etc) have all been professionally aluminium spray painted (with satin matt inserts and refitted to engine. Body exterior is mostly back to bare metal (rear wings, boot, doors and bonnet). Minor skim filler needed for prep. Welding has been completed (new back panel, parts of nearside rear inner arch, parts of offside rear inner/outer arch, and other minor patches). 2 new BMW oem front wings are provided with car and basically prepared for painting. Drivers door has been replaced for a good used one. Full extended silver leather trim, with M-Tech stripes stitched into the corners have been removed and are in the capable hands of an expert upholstery trimming company, awaiting job go-ahead (M-TECH 2, 370mm steering wheel, doorcards, centre consul, door handles, ashtrays, etc). I could negotiate a fair price for the upholstery work to begin, on behalf of prospective buyer. 15" original BBS Cross spoke wheels have been refurbed, awaiting fitting. Car currently sits on bottletops for rolling purposes. Blue roof has no tears or rips. There is no service records supplied with this car. I have not got around to checking service history with BMW, as yet. I do however have a bundle of parts purchase receipts, mostly BMW since I began this restoration a year ago. Mileage is approximately 127,000. Car is HPI clear.Due to unexpected events I may not be able to complete this car for the foreseeable future, hence this classified advertisement. If a suitable buyer isn't identified i'll leave car in storage and return to complete it at a later date. Please be reminded this is a Motorsport edition. Its unusual for these cars to become available and be offered for sub £20,000, and even more rare for a project to be offered, where the major restoration and cost has taken place already, to a very high standard. Car is ready for an enthusiast or bodywork shop to prepare and professionally respray the vehicle. This is a collectors car, obvious good investment, with prices for these rising incrementally and fast!This is a rare opportunity to buy a very desireable Motorsport. Unlike most projects everything is supplied (uncracked dashboard, complete interior, full original MTEC II bodykit, spec wheels, Scorpion exhaust. It is a perfect christmas holiday project. As most of the work has already been completed, it is perfectly feasible to have it completed and ready for shows or use, in time for beginning of New Year. I am happy to answer any genuine enquiry's/questions via Ebay messages, but am aware that there are individuals who are not genuine. I would rather not encounter these individuals or waste my time or yours, so I humbly ask people that are not serious in purchasing this dream car to look elsewhere.
