Purchased 3 years ago from a gentleman who had been tasked by the family who owned the car from new to restore it back to its former glory. The family hit some troubles and decided to sell the car. It was in good original condition and running like a dream. The vehicle comes with a complete  history, including its original Manual and service booklet that is stamped and invoices dating back to 1975 and also you can't forget the original main dealer tax disc holder.

The previous owner had new floor pans fitted, converted the 6V battery to a 12V and serviced the vehicle.

Since owning the vehicle I have;

- Removed the engine (fully running when removed) and given an overhaul. Removing the heads, replacing the return pipes, replacing gaskets, filters and plugs. (Exact details in invoice) All engine work has been carried out by the legendary Terry's Beetle Services. https://terrysbeetles.wixsite.com/aircooled

- Repaired and tended to all the body work stripping it back to bare metal and all welding and body work carried out by the knowledgable Algy Mccormack. (Exact bodywork details in Invoice)

Bare metal paint job inside and out with original windows out and put back with all new rubbers as well as new wing beading. Underside treated and sealed. All 5 wheels colour coded in original colour Fontana Grey. Purchased the majority of the new parts that are needed including carpets, bumpers, exhausts and tips and much much more. (All invoices present for new parts and inventory list from previous restorer)Petrol tank removed and stripped back to bare metal ready for prima and paint.

Overall the project its self is at its last stages of fine tuning and refitting. I still have all of the original parts and the parts that have been replaced the originals are still with the vehicle.

The reason for the sale is that I started a new venture at the start of the year and since then not been able to make any time for the vehicle and its not looking like I will have anytime to get it done in the future. I can't have it sitting around and let the hard work and money I have put into it go to waste. My aim was to put the car back to its former glory and create a clean original low mileage 1 owner classic.

Things left to do for completion;

Wiring loom and electrical re-fitInterior re-fittedEngine put back in along with new clutch (supplied)Side windows re-fitted Exterior trims fitted (new ones supplied, old ones still present)New roof lining fitted (Not Supplied)

Not only will it be a clean and original example but a great investment. Once finished I have seen these models with similar history fetch upwards of £20,000. Being a fully restored UK supplied RHD 1 owner low mileage example that alone is investment worthy, hence the efforts its already received.

One of the very few decreasing 1965 UK supplied RHD original in existence -  Restored to its original specification and colour

Yes this is sold as a project car but as far as projects go this one is well on its way too becoming something very special. The hard work has been done, the majority of the money has been spent it just needs that extra push to get it across the line. If you do your research you will find it ticks all the boxes to buying a beetle and as far as buying a project this is well within achievable with no warning signs so perfect for even the enthusiast.
