Classic Mini 1275 P & L Special – Heritage Shell. Simply stunning! for sale
Current customer rating: (104 votes ) based onFor sale is my stunning 1972 Austin Mini 1275 P + L Special, finished in unblemished Jaguar Signal Red. The car was a special built by P + L in 1999, into a new Heritage Mini Cooper Shell and is now showing only 29,000 miles. This car has a nice list of in-period available modifications;
External – Sportspack arches, twin fuel tanks with matching locking Aston type fuel caps. Morris Cooper Mk1 button removable grille, stainless bumpers with MK 1 overriders, custom air brushed union jack roof, hinged rear number plate, original Lucas reversing lamp, genuine Lucas & Raydot spot lights (+covers), Mk2 rear lights, chrome door handles, hinges & wipers, anti-smash tinted window film. Removable rally bonnet with leather straps. Sitting on unmarked 13 X7 Superlight alloys with good matching rubber. Clear waxoyl treatment underneath; totally corrosion-free. Includes rally style tool board.
Mechanicals – Just back from a local Mini specialist with an eye watering receipt for the following work – 1275 A + engine with new rings, bearing, cam followers, timing chain and tensioner, reconditioned unleaded cylinder head, head gasket, Omega pistons, Metro Turbo crank & rods, Piper 285 cams, rebuilt single 1.75” SU HIF carb on special manifold, new electronic distributor, Rover Cooper gearbox 3.44 final drive, Verto Clutch, Quick Shift conversion, new heater matrix, 2.5” stainless 1 box sports exhaust system. New battery.
Brakes – MG Metro ventilated front discs, 8” rear KAD disc conversion, braided hoses, servo assisted. Fletcher radiator, silicone hoses & additional electric cooling fan (not needed).
Suspension – fully adjustable front & rear beam axles, negative camber, gas shocks & coilovers, polybushed, rose jointed bottom arms, front subframe with solid mounts, quick ratio rack.
Interior – black and red leather quilted Monte Carlo style Recaro front & rear seats and door panels, new carpets and mats, walnut wood veneered dash & matching Mota Lita wheel, magnolia faced Smiths instruments with 130 mph speedo, dropped steering column, alloy door furniture, rev counter, Kenwood Radio, Cassette & CD with multichanger & quality speakers
The car is mot and tax exempt and comes with a fully documented service history from original P+L sale showing £££ spend and a 10 page independent engineer's report from my purchase 2 years ago. The car build was Mini Magazine featured back in July 1999 and 2 copies accompany the car. Drives really well and sounds great! Only for sale as it is not getting enough use and really does deserve some show exposure!
