I have owned this vehicle since circa 2006. It is well known in Rolls Rpyce circles due to the first owner being registered as Permigon Press, the owner of Permigon Press being the labour MP and media tycoon Robert Maxwell. The car was supplied new to Maxwell in 1959. On build it was immediately exported to France where Maxwell and his French wife lived. The indicator switch is marked left and right in French. On return to the UK in 1963 the car was allocated the number plate FJF 404B.

I have owned the car since 2006 and I am surprised to see the car has done 30,000 miles during my ownership. I would imagine a silver cloud was very futuristic when it was sold in the 1950's, and the car certainly can keep up with modern traffic. I have the history for the car - being old MOT's from 1979 onwards. Since that date it has done approximately 60,000 miles. I have no history before that.

The car was used by me, and in fact since the 1970's as a wedding car. It was white in colour for a number of years but has been returned to its original colour scheme following on repair to the chassis and cills. Said work, including the paintwork was professionally carried out at a cost in excess of £15k.

The original leather interior is dark red in colour. The leather is good having been re-connolised in the late 1980's by a previous owner. The interior veneers are in very good condition.  She currently sits on the correct period whitewall tyres. These set her off well, however with these the car does "tramline". Will be supplied with a set of steels with radials.

The car from new was specified with a couple of optional extras not available to standard steel S1 saloons. Firstly is the steel sliding sunroof, and secondly is the front electric windows.

The car is not concours but is perfectly useable, and benefits from LEZ exemption, tax and MOT exemption. I have tried, given its history, to keep it original. The car has a slightly scored windscreen on the passenger side. It would probably polish out. Could supply a spare secondhand screen, however the screen in it is the original, still having its manufacturers mark, of Royal Dalton. Clearly these cars were built with no expense spared at the time.

The car benefits from a stainless steel exhaust and has had a recent brake master overhaul.

The negative points to the car, are that the original toolkit has long gone missing, although may be able to put together a period tool kit for it. The car could also do, I suspect with a decoke. If it meets the buy it now price I will carry out this before passing it over to its new keeper.

Ideally come view, however if you provide contact mobile will provide detailed photos
