1926 Rolls Royce Barker Salamanca.

Chassis Number 65TC. br/>Registration number AM 06 94. (Dutch. Does not go with car. )

A magnificent car with the most desirable Salamanca coach work by noted builders Barker & Co. giving the best of all worlds; fully open. Sedanca style. or fully enclosed. The windows are all wind up units with fold flat frames & the central division is a wind up mechanism.

Ordered by F. N. Beardmore. who resided at the Palace Hotel. Torquay. on 4th December 1925. 65 TC was subsequently delivered to Barker & Co. on 1st July 1926.

The specification ordered from the factory included white metal radiator shutters and unusual 6/7 passenger seating as opposed to the more traditional 4/5 seat arrangement for a Cabriolet de Ville body. As one would expect for such a luxurious vehicle. the interior fittings can only be described as lavish. with beautiful cabinetwork complementing the brown leather interior.

The exterior is deep burgundy paint over black wings in good order. Twin side mounts adorn the two front wings. Barker Patent dipping headlamps are fitted to the front. The car comes with its starting handle & a bottle Jack etc & wheel spanner. A capacious motoring trunk is fitted to the rear. Tools are stowed in the running boards. A sonorous klaxon is fitted under the bonnet.

The engine starts readily & runs in silence with excellent oil pressure; Over 30 psi to start dropping to 24 when up to temperature. We have run the car with the radiator shutters fully closed due to the cold weather during which the temperature gauge never went over 70 degrees. The car has a very tight unmolested feel to it suggesting a low overall mileage. When warm the car starts readily "off the switch" even after standing for some time. indicating excellent compressions.

The car is now at our Medmenham premises near Marlow & may be viewed there by prior appointment.
