1972 Jaguar E-Type Series 3 Championship Winning Race Car. Fully Race Tuned

Here we have a truly stand out E Type Jaguar. This car has been fully restored and is in the best possible shape for its new owner. The pedigree and history with this car is amazing with all history and documents available to see on site.

Been only a 2 owner car the first owner bought this car in 1972 and owned the car until 2007. In the time he owned it in 1977 this car was raced for the first time at Donington Park. Following the first race at Donington the car was raced prepared with a 4 speed manual gear box. straight through exhaust system. break cooling adaption. 3. 77 to 1 differential. Michelin tyres on standard wheels. Over the next few years it was raced regularly in the UK club events and particularly in the intermarque challenge championship. It had several overall and many class wins. This is the only series 3 to race consistency. History below;

1980 - The Birkett 6 hour relay
1981 - Geneva tour
1982 - Intermarque at silverstone
1983 - Snetterton
1984 - Intermarque at silverstone
1985 - Oulton park
1986 - Oulton Park - Bodywork was modified to accept 10" minilite wheels and larger treaded tyres. new engine 5. 7 liter with 4 - 2" SU carburettors. girling 4 pot CanAm front breaks
1986 - Jaguar E type team - winners of the intermarque challenge championship for the first and only time.
1987 - Won at silverstone

The car was continued to be used on the road as it was from 1973. Including several continental tours and competed in hill climbs and sprints until completely restored to new condition in 1998. Final and current specification including ZF automatic gearbox.

GRP bonnet with extra cooling louvers. wider rear wheel arches to accept 8" revolution alloys wheels fitted with 2. 25 X 15 tyres.

5. 7 Liter V12 engine (Ron Beaty) with cosworth pistons. also special camshafts to give increased torque. Weber carburettors. American holly hight output fuel pump. 4 speed and overdrive ZF gearbox (as fitted to XJ40 & range rover) with 2. 88 to 1 differential.

Ultimate classic touring car with recaro seats & cockpit brake adjustment valve. 4 pot girling CanAm front brakes. Completely overhauled by Moorland classic cars (england)
