For sale is a rather rare 1957 Ford Del Rio 2 Door Station Wagon....To begin with, the previous owner had all new floors installed, including heavy undercoating everywhere with the exception of the spare tire well which remained in immaculate original condition...in order to keep the structural integrity and body alignment intact, the wagon body was properly braced and cross braced in order to keep the rigid "squareness" needed to insure that the fenders, doors and tailgate would maintain factory or better fitment...this is no small task...hopefully the pictures reflect the success of that effort...all alignment areas and seam gaps are excellent. Next, the entire car was sanded down to bare metal, the very minimal body work that was required was performed and then a high grade primer for protection was applied. The windshield and flat side glass pieces will need to be replaced-the rear liftgate glass is in nice condition...front and rear bumpers with guards and brackets are present and are very good cores for replating... nearly every piece of the original Del Rio exterior trim is present and in very restorable condition if the buyer prefers to go back to the original look. The correct front and rear seats are present, as are the door panels...all the interior garnish and dash moldings are there and in very nice condition.....I have the original radio...the tilt steering column is from a Chevy vanThe donor car for this project was a 59K mile 1998 Lincoln Mark VIII with the 4.6 Liter Dual Overhead Cam Fuel injected motor and Automatic Overdrive transmission...also installed were the Lincoln fuel tank, computer, radiator and any other items that could be utilized...it is a factory Serpentine belt system so the A/C compressor is already mounted in place, ready for aftermarket A/C...the engine compartment is so well done it actually looks factory, very clean and orderly...when the hood is open, those expecting to see a 390, 302 or whatever are definitely blown away by this popular late model swap. The front suspension and brakes are all new and include disc brake components from a Ford Granada and a heavy duty sway bar which greatly enhances steering and cornering control....this wagon has a strong, aggressive stance with 4 wheel disc brakes...the rears were added, along with new axle bearings and seals to the iconic 9" rear endThe engine has custom made and coated headers leading to a larger diameter dual exhaust system and Flowmaster mufflers that give a very nice but not excessive sound...the original wiring harness controls gauges and lights... a new computer and required separate wiring harness carry other Lincoln drive train responsibilitiesI will be happy to share all I know of the build...here is a brief cost breakdown of what has been invested thus far as provided to us by the previous owner...the Lincoln donor car was $4000-the replacement of the floors including labor and material was $2700..the stripping of the body, body work and primer application totaled $2100- the exhaust system including custom coated headers, enlarged diameter dual exhaust and Flowmaster mufflers was $1700-the 4 wheel disc brake system with rear brake conversion kit, new front suspension, new steering box, heavy duty sway bar parts and labor $2100-the new computer and wiring harness for the Lincoln drive train was $1250-the new Boss wheels were $1150-the new Cobra powder coated engine Plenum was $500The total of just the costs for labor and materials listed above is the same as the asking price... $15,500.....please note that this accounting DOES NOT INCLUDE whatever he paid for the wagon itself before he began a multi year project...if you can find a rolling, motorless 57 Ford 2 door or 4 door wagon shell, of any model, that needs a full restoration including floors, you will likely pay at least $8-10K or more-and again, that is if you can locate one.....here you are being offered a great and potentially very valuable ride for only what has been invested so far in parts and labor alone...with no additional consideration whatsoever for the value of the car by itself....any questions?  Need more specific pictures? email me through Ebay or call me at 818-7849820   Thank you and may God Bless all of our Veterans including those who are or have been Disabled, Homeless or are otherwise Needy-and members of their families...Robert
