Classic Mini, rally look, perfect underneath. for sale

Originally an 850, now 1098, owned by me for eight years. Completely rebuilt from a shell as a hobby over two years and put back on the road in summer 2015. No rust apart from the odd surface mark, very clean and rust-free underneath and in engine bay. Only been driven once in the rain (caught out!) since refurb and never at all in the winter. I'm making this description as honest as possible, but I'd recommend coming to see if, as it's quite different to a rather rusty mini that's bodged up and pretending to be nice. This is an unusually sound car that's pretending to be a bit rough. But please come and have a look for yourself if you can.The rally style means you don't need to be obsessed with polishing the chrome and you can get on enjoying the car. But if you want a mechanically sound AND perfect show car, look elsewhere and pay much more! It's a really great little car, but there are still a couple of jobs to make it top dollar:Four spoke Revolution 12” wheels follow the slightly scruffy look, you could refurb them, but they fit the image brilliantly. The paintwork is decent, but not great. However, it's not full of rust blisters or bodge. There is some filler in the bottom of the doors, however, the rust has all been cut out and repaired and they are now ‘full' of waxoyl. The interior isn't perfect. The expensive and important things like the seats and dash trim are great, but the headliner is the original and is a bit grubby. The new carpet is the wrong one (from a mk1) so it's not glued in and doesn't fit around the gear stick. The floor is sound, though, so you could easily run it without a carpet to add to the purposeful look. As is common with a Mini, there is a crunch (solved by a double de-clutch or matching the engine speed) going down to second at speed. Otherwise clutch, gearbox and Gearchange are all spot-on. Engine pulls well and doesn't smoke, overheat or rattle. The car has been completed in a purposeful rough-and-ready semi-rally style, so it was never intended to be a showroom model. It looks great, sounds absolutely fantastic with the sport exhaust and drives well for a 41 year old car. Oil, filter and grease service 200 approx miles agoRegistered as Historic Vehicle, so tax and MOT exempt, so that's a huge bonus for a new owner. V5 in my name, though still as an 850.Winning bidder should pay 5% deposit via paypal or bank transfer within 24 hours of the auction ending with the balance by bank transfer or cash on collection (not paypal).
