Ford Fiesta RS1800 for spares or repair, I bought this car in 2012 but it was in the garage until this year when I decided to sell it. I listed it on eBay and had several enquires about the condition and what work was required to make it roadworthy, I am not a car mechanic and my assessment may have been wrong so I decided that if the car was mot'd it would be a good starting point for any restoration work. The RS required the following for mot.Welding - Rear offside wheel arch and sill, drivers seat fixing and a small repair to the footwell, battery tray replaced, the biggest amount of welding was in the passengers footwell and inner wing(picture 10) and a small repair on the rear nearside inner wheel arch.Parts Replaced.Master cylinderN/S lower suspension armN/S and O/S rear brake cylindersRear brake shoesWiper bladesThe RS has also had the cambelt and water pump replaced and a service(Oil, filter, plugs and a new K & N air filter). The exhaust is stainless steel.I have insured and taxed the car with a view to continuing the restoration but unfortunately a medical problem means I will be unable to carry on with the work so I am re-listing the car. The main area is the paintwork, the lacquer is lifting in several places and will need attention. I have also noticed a noise when I drive the car but I am unable to pinpoint what is causing it, the exhaust is stainless steel with quite a large rear silencer and I do not know if it is that I can hear. The upholstery is generally okay but there are a couple of holes, a small hole on the drivers seat and a slighty larger one on the rear seat passenger side. The fuel gauge is not working, I replaced the gauge but it still does not work so I can only assume it is the sender unit, this is accessible from under the backseat. I have set of Ford Motorsport 51/2J x 14 alloy wheels for the car which will be included in the auction, these are the correct size as the set fitted are too wide and rub when the steering is on full lock.I also own a Fiesta ST150(which will be for sale soon and it has only done 50,000miles) so I have been able to make a direct comparison between the 2 cars and whilst the RS is not so refined it still has good performance and a decent turn of speed.I have the V5 and the all the mots and service history up to 2008, I think it was taken off the road in 2009. The mileage is around 84,900 but this will increase a little but it appears to be genuine as the mot's confirm this, I did a car check on the car when I bought it and there were no issue's, I will include this with the service history. If you require anymore information or pictures please email me. I would recommend you inspect the car as I have tried to describe it as accurately as possible but may have missed something obvious to someone else. If you want to come and look at the car please contact me through eBay, the car is located in West Cornwall.
