1966 Plymouth Fury lll 2 door hardtop. 225 Slant Six with 3 speed manual transmission and 3:23 gear. Manual brakes and steering. This car was a oddball order from the factory. The premium Fury lll trim package but with the slant six, manual steering and brakes, radio delete and no outside mirror. It is known as the alaskamobile. Several years ago an old buddy and I took this car from Kentucky to Alaska on a roadtrip of a lifetime. We camped and ate in or with the car the entire journey. I have an album of pictures of the car on the trip. We spent quite a bit of time in the Yukon Territory and British Columbia. We chose this car to take because of the size ( we could get all our supplies and gear in it ) and the simplicity and economy of the drive train. Even then gas was high in the remote areas and the Fury got us 20 mpg.A year after the trip I had it painted, new headliner and trunk mat. I had the head redone and put in a new clutch and brakes. I also detailed the engine compartment. Since then ( about 30 years ) I start and drive it every four to six weeks about 5 miles to keep the everything loosened up. Occasionally it has been driven 50 miles or so to a car show. It has always been kept inside on concrete. I had a board made with photos and description of the trip and it's always a hit with spectators. The car shows well but is not perfect. There is a little rust through in the trunk floor that was sealed but not repaired. The floorboards are solid. The glass is all good. The seats were done right before the trip. There are two seam seperations on the drivers seat under the cover I keep on it. The carpet is the original and is worn in places but intact. The car is mechanically as it came from the factory. It is woefully underpowered and really not that enjoyable to drive for that reason. It does ride and drive well however. I know the temptation to put a big block and 4 speed in it will probably be to great for someone someday. It would be a very easy swap on this car but I could never bring myself to do it.I am retiring and downsizing my collection. Please inquire with any questions and any visits or inspections are welcome. I have bought and sold vehicles on ebay for several years and have always abided by the rules and I ask others to do so aswell.

There have been many questions. The last one I sold on here there was an option I liked of showing all the questions and answers but I don't see it anymore. For some reason I don't personally understand this car always draws attention. It can be setting amoungst cars worth fives time more and still get the most attention even from people who don't know its history.I don't want anyone spending their money and coming here or recieving it from a shipper with unwarranted expectations so I wanted to add the details from the questions. The chrome on the bumpers and trim show wear close up. They have never been redone. The potmetal chrome around the tail lights have pitting. The aluminum trim is dull unless there is armourall on it.There was rust through in the lower rear quarters that was repaired decently but not perfectly when it was painted although its held up all these years. There is the rust through in the trunk floor mentioned in the description. It doesn't affect any structural integrity but is there. Underneath is all surface rust as far as I can tell. The glass is all good with no smoking. Original 14" wheels and caps. While the tires may look new they are many years old and personally I wouldn't want to get them hot on a trip of any distance. The speedometer growls a little in real cold weather but works.I did a average market value and set the reserve accordingly. While it may go higher than that I think objectively that is is current value. Of course it will continue to increase if kept in this condition. Yes I will scan and put on a flash drive any photos the buyer wants of the car on the trip. Please ask any more questions you can think of.Thanks for all your interest.
