Daimler Double Six Coupe, Jaguar XJC Two Door Coupe, 42,281 miles

The Daimler Double Six Coupe is a rare two-door version of the Daimler four door saloon. It was the last car from Jaguar/Daimler to be designed by Sir William Lyons. The Coupe was first shown to the public in September and October of 1973 at the London, Paris and Frankfurt Motor Shows. It was announced that both 4.2 litre (6 cylinder) and 5.3 litre (12 cylinder) versions would be available for the 1974 model year. The Daimler Double Six Coupe is the Holy Grail when it comes to the two door coupes, only 371 right hand drive models were produced out of a total world wide production of 407 cars. Finished in by far the best colour combination of Squadron Blue with Biscuit leather, complimented by pressed chrome wheels and chrome waist strips. This car is fitted with Alpinair air conditioning. Recorded low mileage of 42,000 miles, with past MOT certificates dating back to 1983, current MOT to August 2021. This Daimler has seen little use, it is my understanding the car spent many years in storage and was recommissioned in 2016 and MOT'd the mileage at that point was 42,186 miles. The car then spent the rest of its time until 2020 in storage, August 2020 it was again MOT'd mileage at this point was 42,204 miles and the car has not been used since. New drivers door lock barrel, new auxiliary air valve. Engine oil & filter change, automatic gearbox serviced, brake fluid changed. Over £6500 in parts alone this year recommissioning plus labour !A lovely example with superb Biscuit hide interior, new head lining, new carpets and excellent wood veneers. Paint work and panel fit are both excellent and are complimented by superb chrome of which 90% is new. Mechanically the gearbox changes as it should and the engine shows text book oil pressure and temperatures. Current MOT to April 2022, although the car is of course MOT & Tax exempt.
