I'm going to go overboard on information here, but if you're serious about buying, I will hopefully answer any questions you may have, get comfortable!…

Having viewed a couple of examples that had virtually no service history or ‘enthusiast owned', I confidently decided on this one and have loved every minute. I didn't want to spend £10k on a 30 year old car only to have to spend another £5-10k on repairs. Therefore, please don't compare this example against one that has had little evidence of spend or not a V8 etc.

Producing 225 BHP with a huge 300 ft lbs of torque (with relatively low kerb weight of 1282 kg), this Mustang performs as good as it looks (unlike its 4 cylinder/V6 cousins), and can embarrass many a modern hot hatch! Despite its performance, Classic Insurance with Adrian Flux is less than £150 a year for me (I'm in my thirty's)

About this Model:

This particular style of Fox Body Mustang ran from 1987-1993. This mid-cycle1990 model brought a few changes including: Drivers Air bag (with redesigned steering wheel to accommodate). ‘Titanium Grey' interior trim (replacing Smoke and Charcoal). Rear Speakers (deleting armrests). New exterior colours introduced, Vermilion Red being one of them (replacing Scarlet) and in my opinion the best colour for a Fox Body (almost identical to the Vibrant Red used on the Cobra R). Door ‘Tape' inserts no longer a factory option and finally,1990 was the last year to retain the ‘Turbine' alloy wheels (Giving it that iconic Muscle car look).

About this car:

This Mustang is a 25th Anniversary Edition that is discretely identified by a special dash mounted emblem. (all Mustangs produced between 17/04/89 and 17/04/90 were classed as ‘Anniversary Editions'). Built February 1990, a Domestic Special Order originating from Los Angeles, this Mustang is presented in Factory Original spec/colours and trim (confirmed by the door tag) with the exception of the rear lenses (professionally swapped for Genuine Mustang LX lenses - originals supplied) and MagnaFlow Street Cat-Back Exhaust System. Supplied with some great provenance including original California License Plates, a box of Cassette Tapes from California and an extensive history file containing all correspondence and detailed spend. History and owners

This Cherished Mustang was imported from San Jose, California on July 1992 by Eric. Purchasing when it was only 17 months old. He was the careful custodian for nearly 20 years, after which it was sold to his friend Christopher (print of email to prove). Eric meticulously maintained and cherished this car until it went into storage in 2005

Second keeper and friend to Eric, Christopher commissioned an extensive program of restoration and maintenance work that far exceeded the value of the car at the time (totalling over £10,000 during his ownership). Truly a testament to the care bestowed upon this treasured car. He was the second owner for 7 years who sadly had to sell due to his advancing years.

Stuart was the third owner, a multi skilled RAC mechanic that conducted meticulous routine care along with many labour intensive repairs and improvements totalling £1177 in parts alone:

I took ownership in May 2021. Spending £2165.36 on Maintenance/Repairs/Parts. I took the car straight to Namco (North American), a renowned American Specialist Mechanic receiving a Full Service and addressing anything needing attention. I have had some interior trim parts sourced and replaced including weatherstripping, even sourcing a reconditioned factory correct Ford Cassette Player with the benefit of a discrete Bluetooth upgrade.

I also reinstated the factory Genuine Ford license plate frame fitted with Road Legal BS marked number plates (enabling easy and correct attachment of the original supplied California plates for show use).

I also had the rear lenses professionally swapped for Genuine Ford ‘LX' tail lamps (a common style modification Stateside). Enabling the required Amber Indicator and incorporating the mandatory rear Fog Lamp within the light cluster. The GT ‘Cheese Grater' standard lenses are very thick, always showing a red turn signal (despite many efforts). This is not legal in the U.K. and will fail an MOT (not to mention invalidate your insurance). I have the originals should you wish to easily swap them back.

It has had some recent paint correction, addressing a few areas I wasn't happy with whilst received professional detailing and now presents in a way that it deserves, looking bright, fresh and free from any major blemishes.

The interior presents equally impressively, defying its 31 year age. There are no rips or tears, and even the ashtray flap still works (a weak point that often snaps clean off)..

This car is truly ready to show off at any upcoming meets and will stand out and draw attention. Truly a turn-key car that is ready to use and enjoy. It turns heads and commands attention wherever it goes. We're behind the American curve with these in terms of value, but in the states they are roughly double that of current U.K. prices, so are still sensible money (for now).

If like me, you want to dip you toe with a Classic American thats old enough to stand out, but modern enough to use. There is no better place to start (without the pitfalls of purchasing a car that's had little evidence of maintenance and could swallow many £thousands very quickly). This car has only ever been cared for by chosen professional mechanics and never subjected to DIY repairs.
