About this vehicleThis 1974 Buick GranSport is a restored vehicle. The owner has had it for 3 years. The vehicle runs great and is mainly used for car shows.Vehicle Details

It is a very, very rare Musclecar that someone knows the entire history of it since the day it was delivered. This is one such car. I was working in the local Buick dealership as a technician when my good friends brother ordered this car. I actually was the technician that did the new car service on the car and signed off on it. He ordered it in January 1974 and the car didn't show up to the dealership until very late summer, when the 75s were already coming out. He wasn't going to buy it too because it didn't show up as ordered. He ordered swivel buckets, it came with standard. He ordered 15 inch chrome wheels, the car came with steel wheels and hubcaps. ( When they finally worked out the details, a few days later when he picked up the car, it was shod with new 15 inch Buick ralleys.) The original Steelie wheel and spare tire are still in the trunk ) Note that there are no Stage 1 emblems on the car. Call it a factory goof- up, it has never had them. The car has all its original sheet metal ( except for the hood which the stripper ruined ) and you can tell that there were never any holes drilled in the fenders. Did I mention that this is the 5th to last Stage 1 car ever built? Stage 1 car's were built between 1969 and 1974, this car, one of only 478 built, was built on June 19, 1974 and 4 more were built the following day ( I have their VIN numbers!) and all was finished.

So Jim drove the car the first few years and then took the car off the road in 1977 and it had been sitting all these years. I purchased the car from him maybe 3 years ago and completed a frame-off. The 22,000 miles is original. The car had minor surface rust on the undercarriage plus Ziebart rustproofing, and the only way to make it right was to take it all apart and restore it. All the numbers match, ALL of them, like you would expect, and floors, trunk, sheet metal very nice and original, non rusty. Interior is all original down to the original carpet, seats and door panels. These cars did not have a high survival rate and very few parts are available for them. Luckily, I needed almost nothing. The body is laser straight. Satisfaction guaranteed. No shortcuts. Very very high quality paint. Original records from Buick. If you need to see photos of the undercarriage, well, I may have some. Couldn't get any decent photos of that when I took these photos a few days ago, but I can assure you that the undercarriage is very nice! R 12 Freon. Rechromed original bumpers.
