Here is a very unique 1958 Austin Healey Bugeye Sprite. Finished with a White exterior and spartan interior with a Black seat. The odometer reads 93,132. This Austin Healey Sprite is a street legal and titled car that has been set up to run on the track. This Austin Healey has a 1275 CC 4 cylinder engine, 4 speed rib case manual transmission, current roll cage, current fuel cell and Sparco Sprint seat. This racecar is also has a Simpson harness, 13 inch Minilite style wheels mounted on good Hoosier tires, quick release steering wheel, front tilt fiberglass clip and much more. This Bugeye also comes with a carpet set, 2 street seats, original fuel tank, additional set of wheels, tonneau cover and much more.
The 4 cylinder 1275 CC engine was built by Tom Colby of Speedwell Engineering and the compression is approx. 220 pounds per cylinder. The 4 speed manual transmission shifts properly through all of the gears and the brakes feel just great. This Bugeye was last raced at the Jefferson 500 at Summit Point Raceway where it was teched and given a log book. This really is a FUN car to drive.
The interior has been stripped for track use. The Sparco Sprint seat is in excellent condition (see pictures) showing just minimal wear to the seat. The dashboard is original and stock with the exception of the quick release steering wheel. The carpets have been removed and there is a fire extinguisher mounted. The safety cage is complete as well.
The exterior is exactly what one should expect from a vintage racecar. The white paint is fair at best and certainly has some battle scars and marking from track use. There is a Yellow center stripe and the sticker and numbers are removable.
This 1958 Austin Healey Bugeye Sprite really is the ultimate affordable and manageable track car.
