Mercury Cougar Coupe 3.8cc 1986 . Low miles .Great starter Classic American

Here we have for sale a real 80's Miami Vice throw back...Its a Mercury Cougar Coupe 3.8 .....What a funky car...This car just shouts 80's America.It has a an amazingly rust free body and a very original interior which is in surprisingly good original condition. Seats are all good Door cards are all good with only 2 minor repairs on drivers side which dont really show. Carpets are all good and not damaged, even drivers kick pad is not worn.Bodywork is quite amazing for a 86 car. Last owner who owned a body shop (his personal car) decided to respray it in a lovely pale blue metallic instead of the awful 'doom' dark blue previously. So body is superb be it that door shuts are still in original colour...well it is what it is...maybe if it was worth 15k it was worth stripping it and doing the shuts....but hey! who cares it still looks great...NOTE i have all the pictures of the car during the repaint process to prove how rust free it is...Bullet proof engine ....3.8 Ford unit. Starts first turn, no smoke and runs like a watch.Gearbox changes as it should. We have changed the oil and pan filter. NOTE all parts are readily available for these cars here and from Rock Autos in US...12 day delivery and unbelievably cheap!! and i mean cheap....The car still has a US college parking sticker in the window.. bit of nostalgia . NOTE....we have a rear light coming in from US from one of our contacts as one on car has damaged outer cover...so that will be replaced before sale. This was not a mot failure...Digital dash/speedo works perfectly....We have a replacement heater matrix but have not got round to replacing it.....not a difficult job on these as its a 'billy basic dash unit' ..Two ways to buy this car....with matrix replaced or with the unit to replace yourself(price adjusted)....you can check it out on 'you tube' its not difficult and if we can get rid of the back log of work we will replace it ourselves...so we can talk!!June 2022 Mot and currently sorn.You can drive this old girl home if you tax it....after you pay me !!All in all a car that gets loads of looks, well when did you last see one here? There is a very active Mercury Cougar owners club who welcome owners from round the world...I have joined. SO PX DEAL SWAP CAR BIKE BOAT CLASSIC ETC TRY ME!!Contact Martyn 07990971800 or email [email protected]
