This car was imported from the USA in the 90's by a garage in Wiltshire. It was bought by Spike Anderson of Samurai fame because unusually it was an unmolested shell; Spike then retired to Spain before starting the work and Dave Jarman (Z specialist DJR Racing) bought the car from Spike and kept it in storage until 2011. so for all its UK life it has only been on the road for about 18mths. I agreed the purchase from Dave as a bare shell which was re-built and completed in June 2012 with further fettling completed November 2012. The car has completed about 1500 miles since the rebuild.

DJR would charge over £48. 00 to build this car today.  I have receipts covering the rebuild.

2. 8 block. modified cylinder head 10. 5 to 1 with stainless chrome stem race spec valves. comp valve springs. bronze guides and new seats; billet DJR spec cam; vernier cam sprocket; bronze oil pump drive gear. ARP main bearing bolt kit; visco crank damper; new forged crank. new pistons; DJR stainless steel exhaust manifold and exhaust; steel flywheel; oil cooler.   208 bhp and 221 lb/ft torque running on original carbs. Webbers would give additional performance at the possible expense of reliability and economy.

Drive: 200SX gearbox with gear lever extension; competition clutch. Quaife ATB R200 3. 9 ratio LSD; heavy duty prop shaft and 280 heavy duty rear drive shafts with hubs.

Steering/Suspension: Heavy duty rack and steering coupler tca  bushes; Bilstein coil overs. 1” front roll bar and 7/8” rear roll bar.

Brakes: vented front and 10mm rear disc conversion to FIA spec.

Wheels: Minilite

Electrics. New loom where required; Perspex headlamp covers; 2 x Facet red tops. auxiliary fuse board; potty socket; sensor for Monet on diff coupling.

Body/Interior: Fully restored shell. Recaro ‘Specialist' seats; blue harnesses. half cage. 10mm aluminium sump guard. Front and rear strut braces. /p>

Having built what I consider to be the perfect 240Z (this is my third Z) for historic road and endurance rallies I have now changed plans and am selling my collection including a 1934 Derby Special (£135k) and a 1969 Rover P5B Coupe (£7k)

The Z is open to any inspection including on a ramp. The car can be viewed by appointment close to J21 of the M5.
